How does WG determine which teams should get screwed out of clan cup points?

That isn't a sarcastic or passive aggressive title. I'm genuinely curious how/why both BULBA and -G- (along with others who were only given 42 battles) had to be the fodder of those who only had one draw. It's not because they did worse or lost more, indeed it's not because of anything within their control. They simply were given less games to play and therefore earned a lower point ratio. This goes for all the other teams that got screwed out of clan cup points by Wargaming, when all that needed to be done was weighing the points differently. Having to fight one less Brazilian team means nothing, and I'm certain neither would have lost any games if they had to. This thread will likely get locked with no response but I remain hopeful.

Common sense isn't very common.

Everyone should have had 42 points available, if that was the amount of games the lowest team was given.

Because it's random /s In all honesty it is kinda screwed up, but with an odd number of teams this is the unfortunate result.... :(

Let's be honest here. No week-long tournament with 93 teams can rank clans with any accuracy. I've said since the beginning that the structure doesn't make sense. R-7 won 25 straight battles or whatever over the course of 3 nights and 6 hours, went 28-2 overall, and wouldn't even qualify for the playoffs? Moreover, the open format unnecessarily wastes the time of both good and bad clans. You just can't have an open tourney that lasts 2 months with the wide range of skill level which exists between players.

When the primary determinant of success or failure is the bracket reveal (how many clans and which ones), not game play, you have a poorly constructed tourney. It's almost as if WG needs some sort of council of commanders or something to help them design these clan events...

I'm really not trying to be overly negative. I recognize that this was a one-off for the NA player base and I imagine Dance et al. had to convince some folks to make this event happen. But really, some of these issues were predictable to many of us - and, therefore, largely avoidable.

If this event is the reason CW is still locked?  Wake up WG players are exiting fast with no endgame content.

WG should definitely create such a council! I'm sure you can help them design clan events the same way you "fix" the CW map...... amongst yourselves.
