I haven't played WoT in about a year due to health issues. I came back tonight, excited to read about the new changes. I went into battle and was very disappointed about the performance. The lag was so bad, I couldn't control the tank nor aim. I ran into buildings, ran into a teammate and did damage. I tried to stir clear of him but the tank just kept going and started to turn just as I hit him. I didn't notice what my fps and ping was. But it was terrible!

Here's my computer specs:

Windows 10 Home

Manufacturer: iBUYPOWER

Processor: Intel ® Core ™ i7-6700 CPU 3.40 GHz, 3.40 GHz

Installed Memory: (RAM)8.00 GB (7.88 usable)

System Type: 64 Bit Operating System, x64-Based Processor

Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 1070 Dedicated Memory.

All drivers have been kept updated. All other updates have been checked for the latest versions. All caches have been cleared and history cleared. Nothing running in the background except the operating system. No issues on other multi-player games. I ran a speed test and it's within acceptable range.

I see in the forum, I'm not the only one having lag issues. Too bad my first night back was such a bad experience.

My server is NA East.

Almost everyone has Lag. And war gaming blames it on the thousands of players..... Cause they don't want to admit it's them.

WG has no clue what causes it, and no clue how to fix it. So players log off and do something fun. Good business plan there WG.

Another multi-player game I play occasionally had the same lag issues. Their answer to the problem was to make some horrible updates (some didn't even make sense), increased prices in-game and in the store, merged all the servers into one. Thousands of players quit. Now they have half the players (and still diminishing), but no more lag. Hope this isn't the path WoT is taking. I understand, if you read between the lines in the forums of the other game, a lot of players have come over to WoT.

Server lag today is awful.  I poke out from behind a rock, take a shot, and hit the reverse button.  No movement for 5 seconds.  Ping indicates 110.  I am in a close battle, and the tank goes out of control.  I switch from NA W to NA E for only slight improvement.  For me, all this started with the previous update.  It is only a bit better with the current update.

[Now they have half the players...] please provide verifiable data on that.

You are entitled to your opinion on the game - but back it up with verifiable data.

Have you run PingPlotter for at least 15 minutes and then sent that file in a Support Ticket as requested by WarGaming?

For your convenience - https://na.wargaming...kb/articles/145

Who knows - it might be your ISP and how they route to the NA servers from your location.

If you find a significant drop in latency at any IP address [hop] prior to the last hop and 162.216.229.21/162.213.61.57 then you will need to contact your ISP to see if they can re-route around that IP address.

If you find a significant drop in latency between 162.216.229.21/162.213.61.57 and the next hop - then raise a Support Ticket.

WarGaming Support will probably want you to submit a WGCheck report so you should probably run in conjunction with Ping Plotter and send both in the Support Ticket.

Submitted a support ticket last week and said the problem was the mods I was running.  Funny thing, I only have 1 mod.  WG does not want to take any kind of responsibility for their crap servers.  Need to invest in server infrastructure but they won't.  Pretty maps are more important than a functional game.

If you install software that modifies an app then you are taking a chance that that software will severely affect the app.  The developer of any modification is responsible for making sure that their MOD does not produce unintended actions - in your case it might be high lag.

If WarGaming did not provide the MOD then they cannot be held accountable for any issues that MOD causes their app.

If you installed the MOD from the WarGaming has Mod Portal - https://wgmods.net/WOT/ru/ then the accountability lies with WarGaming and you should call them out on that in your Support Ticket - e.g. MOD from Mod Portal Causing XXXX Issues

Thanks for the good advice.  Unfortunately, ping per se is only half the problem; just as bad is when the tank goes out of control.  Uncommanded, the turret will turn 90 degrees to the side for several seconds.  And/or, I may be driving in a straight line having made no control inputs for several seconds, and the tank will go into a hard turn, sometimes for a full 360.  When that happens in battle or when it throws me off a cliff into the water, I'm dead.  I don't see how phantom control inputs can originate outside the WoT server.

I'm going to open a support ticket for this very thing and get a good laugh at their reply... Because I'm not running any mods and a vanilla install.

WG doesn't own the Internet...sometimes they aren't the problem.

Before you raise a Support Ticket - I recommend that you do the following so that Wargaming has some verifiable information - e.g. PingPlotter log so they can go back to their server logs and compare, that you ran WGCheck so they can see what is going on in your client.

Run PingPlotter for at least 15 minutes and then sent that file in a Support Ticket as requested by WarGaming in their Support Document? For your convenience - https://na.wargaming...kb/articles/145

Who knows - it might be your ISP and how they route to the NA servers from your location.

If you find a significant drop in latency/packet loss at any IP address [hop] prior to the last hop and 162.216.229.21/162.213.61.57 then you will need to contact your ISP to see if they can re-route around that IP address.

For me, with IIRC one exception, the high latency and/or packet loss has occurred somewhere between my client and the WarGaming server - e.g. the fifth hop or the eighth hop out of ten

If you find a significant drop in latency between 162.216.229.21/162.213.61.57 and the next hop - then raise a Support Ticket.

Take your PingPlotter report and your a WGCheck report [For your convenience - https://na.wargaming...kb/articles/770] and send both in the Support Ticket at the same time.
