There are still a ton of people who run it.  It was the most popular OPS in Microsoft history since Windows 95 and 98.

It works on my almost five years old Mac mini with an integrated Intel 4000 (even if the log in was broken for 5 days this month).

Please note that those 'recommended' are just in fact minimal recommendations. It really should say recommended minimal specs for improved gameplay or to that effect.  Resolution has huge impact on the CPU and/or graphics recommendation.  Is it really that hard to take the latest version and just run some benchmarks on  a few cpu/gpu combinations and show what users can expect on Low/med/high/max settings on?

Are those recommended specs to run the highest graphic settings?  If not, what would the minimum specs to run the highest graphic settings?

My point is that it should only be under 'minimum,' and not 'recommended.' Because they support an outdated platform doesn't mean that they should recommend it.

I really like how half way through last patch, and still, my client would crash after 2 hours of play saying I need more memory.

Spoiler

Everything I read in the pic I got off this site seems to say I can run it just fine, except for the part it says I can't. Am I missing something?

you're playing with intel ® hd graphic 530, and it's a intergrated graphic chipset which isn't good for gaming at all. You'd be better off getting a graphic card and power supply for it.

I'll have to do something about it another time, but everything I am reading from it seems to suggest it can handle it.

Spoiler

XP should be discouraged from use.  Ancient and super flaky security.

As an offline machine, fine.  XP should never be in contact with the internet anymore.
