The topic is seen in the title^^

I got interested in WoT after seeing a cousin playing it 2012 or so. It took a while.

Tried WoWP as a beta tester, quit because it sucked.  Went through a divorce and needed something to keep my mind busy.  Tried WOT and enjoyed it.

One of my sailboat racing teammates told me about it.  He's around my age, has been playing 5-6 years, and has 22000 battles.  I went to his house one afternoon and he showed me the game.  That night I downloaded it onto my laptop and started to play.  3 weeks later I bought an all-in-one desktop with a 27" inch screen and a Nvdia 1070 graphics card.  And here I am.  :playing:

Q. How did you get started on WoT?

A.  Two British soldiers stationed in Thailand were in my old clan of Steam Gamers and introduced me to the game in 2011.

Always liked tanks. I had (still have actually) a large collection of HO scale tanks when I was a kid. Had some friends with collections too and we'd get together for massive tank battles. The green team always won.

I watched many Chieftains Hatch videos on YouTube but never played WOT as I'm not really into PVP or shooter type games. Ran across a video from Demolition Ranch where the guy shot an old pickup truck with a tank. There was a WOT invite code in the description and I decided to try it out.

I saw something on TV,  (not a commercial) where they were talking about the game and it's success. I believe there were representativesof WG being interviewed. I thought it looked interesting. This could be back 2013 or 2014. Then in 2015 I had a co-worker that had played it that finally showed me the game and I was impressed enough to download it and start playing. I tried googling to find the tv program that planted the seed for me but came up empty handed. If someone knows, please post it. I'm curious who to blame........lol

A few years ago I watched the History Channel's Greatest Tank Battles and thought, hey, wouldn't it be great if there was a game where you could shoot tanks.  Tah dah!

Joined late 2011 after being shown it by my uncle. Got hooked, slowly watched myself descend into the depths. Haven't been able to climb out even when I hate a lot of changes through the years.

Saw the review on Subsim.com in 2011 and became interested.  WoT finally went public and I opened an account.  I died almost every battle for days.  It made me determined to figure this thing out.  Love this game.

Three years back, I did the 'mistake' watching my son playing WOT on his XBox.

As I worked in the past for many years on Leopards and Marders of the Bundeswehr, it was like a match being held too close to an open flame. I caught fire immediately.

To the dismay of my son, I started my own account, what meant he had to share play time on his game box. Fortunately, not long after I looked up WOT on YouTube and found out, there is also a PC version of the game. I switched right away, leaving the XBox behind.

I joined after the first round of commercials in 2011-12. Then left when my computer pooped out. Started a new account with a new computer in 2013 and am still here off and on.

My wife said one day, "Hey, did you see this ad on FaceBook called World of Tanks?"  She hates that I play it, but hey, didn't she introduce me to it?  Love the game and love my wife.  If I have to choose I ignore the game.

A buddy of mine I've known since the mid-80s from the SCA told me about it, and I downloaded the game right about the time the movie "Fury" came out.
