Signed up in beta. Continued playing for a while after, then left. Been coming back and forth every year or so.

Always loved tanks even as a kid, had quite a collection of tank models I'd built. When I got out of high school I enlisted and became an armored crewmen. Served four years on the M60A1. In 2011 I was online actually looking for a warship game, when I got to Wargaming their warship game was still under production, but WoTs had just opened up to the public. Been at it ever since.

Saw it advertised on TV and thought it looked cool so I downloaded it and started to play

Saw the commercials for a while on History Channel, thought, "no more mmo games wasting time and money". Somehow got interested, now wasting time and money....Ha ha ha.

Have done every sim ... flight, navy/sub, infantry (fps w/realism mods) ... and even though not a real sim, had to give tanks a try.

I got the first bit free. Then like several other things I got in the same way, I found I couldn't stop. Got where I almost need it. ;)

My son played at one time.  He said I should check it out. About that time he got an invite to Closed Beta for World of Warplanes, and I got one as well.  We played WoP together till that game flamed out. I had accumulated 150,000 in gold and almost over 1,000,000 XP...  With a torn shoulder and four pending surgeries I had plenty of time.  Stared collecting tanks.

One of my sailboat racing teammates told me about it.  He's around my age, has been playing 5-6 years, and has 22000 battles.  I went to his house one afternoon and he showed me the game.  That night I downloaded it onto my laptop and started to play.  3 weeks later I bought an all-in-one desktop with a 27" inch screen and a Nvdia 1070 graphics card.  And here I am.  :playing:

Wow, thats the exact opposite of how I got turned onto it! One of my tank racing teammates told me about "World Of Sailboats"(WOSB), he's about my age, and he has about 22000 games in it, so that night I downloaded WOSB, but it sucked! So I then realized that I DO like tank racing, so maybe theres a tank game somewhere that DOESNT involve racing tanks. I found WOT. My 1st laptop wouldnt run it. I bought a new laptop.  370 days later, my 2nd laptop went down, then 330 days after buying yet another laptop, it went down. Then I STOPPED buying laptops every year! So I didnt play for 2 years. But I did enter the America's cup race, and an around the world sailboat race during that time(LOL)

I got into world of tanks back in Jun 2011 and unfortunately lost my account info back in 2015. Just getting back into the game. so I had to restart :( But at least I can focus more on the different lines now than jumping all over the place.
