I'm having similar issues. I finally gave up. I wanted to try total war: arena but the game center always gives the same error (unable to download updates). I finally uninstalled everything and redownloaded WoT and WoWS individually. I then redownloaded the game center but didn't import the other two games. Now I can play WoT and WoWS again, but the game center is still broken af. I just wanna play the total war arena beta.

because I tried this to and it just makes it unplayable like lets say I get the app downloaded on the center it tells me to repair or uninstall the game so just delete the apps in the center then delete the app then reinstall the games but not the center from home page

I wanted to try the updated WoWP 2.0 as another topic said it shares XP gains with WoT.  Went to site & went "OK, download WoWP - but it asked to install WGC first and then "import" any existing games. I went "OK - import them"... After WGC installed no updates to any game were successful. I checked firewall exceptions both in the firewall UI and the "Settings" in WGC for each game - no luck.  I finally ended up uninstalling all WG games (WoT, WoWS & the fragment of WoWP).  I then had to terminate background WGC processes to uninstall WGC and then ran a manual reinstall of WoT only.

NOTE/TIP - if you get slow download speeds on a reinstall try resetting download limits via "Settings" while the download is in progress (pick a low limit - "Apply" then set to "Unlimited" and "Apply" again (keep trying until it lets loose).  That upped my download speed from 80-90Kb/s to about 12-14Mb/s

In sum, I agree - do not install WGC unless maybe you don't have *any* WG apps already installed?

Same issues, tried to install WoWP to see if it has improved but WGC was so unbelievably useless I uninstalled it and now can't try WoWP.

Imagine having a Game Center that stops customers playing your game.

Only WG could manage that...

Sounds to me like a firewall issue.

It's a broken program that acts like a trojan they did nothing for me when I complained about it. Kinda why I stopped playing actively like I used to.

Has anyone gotten their issues resolved, or did you just walk away?  Wargaming isn't going to fix this because - let's be honest - one, two, or a hundred players with tech issues just don't matter in the grand scheme (if you don't have a premium account, you may as well be invisible... as well as canon fodder).  So, it's up to us (the peons) to solve our own problems and share the info.  Agreed, WGC is a complete fail.  It tells me I've successfully installed WoT but then fails to launch it.  I've sent report after report to the (not) help desk and they haven't a clue how to help (there's only so much they can do with "compare issues, cut & paste potential solutions").  Solutions run out after:  uninstall, disable anti-virus, disable firewall, reinstall, send report from WGC.
Outside the WGC issue, when I use the game install program (provided by Wargaming or Krautjaeger above), I get as far as "Updating game client: receiving updates" before the process sh*ts itself and says "Warning:  Error extracting Update data file.  Click 'retry' to download.  For details, see log file."  If I try to retry, it takes another 10 minutes of extracting updates before it ends in the same fail message.
So, I can either only get as far as "Updating game client" with the install program, or as far as (apparently) successful install with the WGC but failure to launch.  Both cases means no WoT.
Here's the kicker:  I am successfully running WoT on a duplicate HP laptop (same make, model, Op system, anti-virus & settings - both bought at Costco).  Wargaming can't explain why it works on one and not the other.
I've done everything the (no) help desk has suggested, all of it has made zero difference.  Any suggestions?  Did anyone get their problems resolved, or did you just walk away and find another pay to win game (with better tech support)?  If the latter, please let me know where you went so I can check it out.

I have it installed and also have no issues. Can launch Tanks and Boat from their exe files as well. Sounds like a few people are having issues so eveyone seems to think there are issues.

View PostPrivateStash, on Aug 11 2017 - 16:45, said:

It is trash, causes issues, but more importantly, is as mentioned, if you have WOT or WoWS installed, then uninstall WGC, you cannot uninstall either game, because for some reason WG decided that the launcher had to take over that function of the game, therefore you wind up having to reinstall WGC just to uninstall either game. this really sucks if you decide you just need a clean install of one of the games.

After having these and other issues, along with there being no real point to having WGC, I got rid of it from my system, reinstalled WOT, and will NEVER use it again. I strongly reccoment against using it, as it really serves no purpose other than to take over the instalation/uninstall process.

1) You can still direct launch from the exe.

2) I haven't experienced any technical issues with it that would require reinstalling.

Have not installed WGC.

So what I understand here is that:

A. Once you install WGC you cannot launch the games directly via their exe files anymore?

B. If you have a problem with WGC you need to uninstall the games, then uninstall WGC, then reinstall the version of the games that come without WGC?

View PostCabbageMechanic, on Aug 10 2017 - 20:33, said:

Sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues, have you tried adding WGC to firewall exceptions?  If you are still experiencing problems please submit a ticket to our Technical Support team here: https://na.wargaming...support/tickets

I just reviewed your ticket - looks like we were waiting on you to try a few different fixes and get back to us.  We would be happy to re-open the ticket and continue working to resolve the issue with you.  Even if it is broken, we can take what we learn, file a bug report, and get the issue resolved in a future version.

This should let you, and anyone else, download the old installer/launcher: https://redirect.war..._web_install_na

you mean world of warplanes right I havn't been successful in finding one though I would check with RItagamer she seems to know a lot

Landed killer...not sure about your instruction process.  My SSD crapped out, got a new one and doing a fresh install of WOT/WOWS, WOWS i was able to find the link to their non-WGC installer and it's working fine, haven't found it for WOT.

So to say 'reinstall the game of your choice' when I cannot find the direct installer which isn't linked to WGC is unhelpful...if you have the link to WOT without WGC please share!

You can't. I just spent 15 minutes trying to install World of Warships without the WG Game Center, couldn't figure out how. The only suggestions people offer is installing everything, then only click the launcher in the folder. Sorry, that is not going to work.

I understand what War Gaming wants to do with the Game Center, it wasn't needed and most users certainly don't want it. Looking at the last batch of bug updates just makes it worse from a useability and a security standpoint.

I'm almost at the point of just reinstalling WoT and WoWS.

Sadly I am on a 5mbps wireless connection, lucky if it sees 50kb/s on a good day. Downloading the 30GB or so of date for both games will take me the better part of a week even running day and night.

I know that's not WGs problem, but it would be nice if they did some sort of hot fix to remove the need for that trash launcher to run in the first place.

View Postlandedkiller, on Jul 31 2017 - 04:24, said:

  1. uninstall all Wargaming games before uninstalling Wgc
  2. click uninstall for the wgc next
  3. open task manager or the mac equivalent
  4. turn off all processes except the uninstall program
  5. then click uninstall on the open wgc window
  6. reinstall the game of your choice (world of warplanes excluded)

Going to the world of warplanes site will only redownload the WGC. the WGC infects the games forcing you to go through all of these steps to get rid of it. DO NOT INSTALL THE WGC PERIOD HIGH LAG WHEN YOU DO AND INTERNET CRASHES

View Postlandedkiller, on Jul 31 2017 - 04:18, said:

I know that sounds like a lot but you will have to do all of that to get World of tanks to run normally only downloaded th ebastard program because i wanted to try out world of warplanes then I uninstalled after having so many crashes and hihgh pngs in world of tanks

View Postlandedkiller, on Jul 31 2017 - 04:16, said:

WGC infects the two like virus making them unable to run once it is gone so the proper way is to uninstalling the games first. Then uninstall the wgc. Open up task manager on windows and turn off all wgc processes except the uninstall program and then reinstall the game of your choice.

uninstall the games one by one turn off all processes that it is doing only run the uninstall you will thank me later I know it is garbadge

OP.. why not just re-install wot and wows instead of re-installing the wgc?

View PostKnagar, on Jul 31 2017 - 02:17, said:

I know you're trying to copy other developers like Blizzard with the battle.net launcher, but why don't you make this garbage POS app optional?

Tried to update WoT, can't connect to service

Tried to update WoWS, can't connect to update service

Uninstalled WGC

Tried to launch WoT, this application needs WGC

Tried to launch WoWS, this application needs WGC

Downloaded and installed WGC again

Tried to update WoT and WoWS, can't connect to update service, app craps all over my PC and crashes it

Restart PC

WGC auto launches, craps all over PC AGAIN

Turn off auto launch

Restart PC

Uninstall WGC

I don't know what in the hell you guys are thinking with this garbage app, but clearly a good amount of the community has a problem with it, IT DOESN'T WORK!

So now I've got a years worth of premium time just pissing away because I can't get anything to update, launch, or work without this garbage app, and will you reimburse me for any of it?? NOPE, you'll say it's some fault on my end, which clearly it's not, and tell me you can't do anything for me. That's just how WG rolls, like a bad case of the clap.

Here are my stats from noobmeter regarding my last battle.

Recent results: Jul 16, 2017 12:39:45 PM - Jul 18, 2017 2:48:16 PM

July 18th is the last time I was able to play. Over 12 days of trying to figure out how to get these games to work and not having the WGC work. 12 days of missed premium time that I won't get back because of your asinine app. Money out of my pocket that I won't get back because of your garbage app.

Sorry about the long quote things but if you guys are still having problems and your on anything less than windows 8 you guys are on outdated platforms that probably CANT run WGC properly

go look up windows 10 accessibility upgrade on google. then if that still dosen't work unimport you game then re-import and delete the caches

Submitting a ticket did nothing for me. They continued to insist that their program works 100% perfectly and will never accept that WGC is garbage. I have no problems installing and updating games on steam and blizzard but if i use WGC, it will 100% of the time say i have an internet connection problem. With the link someone posted in this forum, i can now reinstall the game again.

Their support team thinks we are all 5 year olds that have no clue how to reinstall, reset routers, and change firewall settings. They also think those are the only 3 things that can go wrong, and if there's any other problem, then its probably the work of the devil and we are screwed.

Thanks to the awesome people in this post! i can finally hopefully play the new updates and tanks

I don't know about any of this tech stuff... I know I drop a 100$ every few days on WOT and it worked fine before this update ..  trying to get help, seems impossible ... I'm about to just uninstall the whole program and save myself some time and money.
