Is it me, or is yet another event to promote cheating (read: modding) and reward cheaters (read: modders)?

nope. it does somewhat reward the better players more than the average/poor ones, but thats nothing new.

WG is giving away premium time every friday, and the xp boosters practically grow on trees for the quantity you get as rewards.

combine those with 2x first win bonus, and you can easily pull in 3-5K per qualifying game.

So you basically claim the 50k xp for topmost earner doesnt reward modders in any way?

Look at the WGLNA pro players.  They don't use mods.  You can watch them play when they livestream on twitch.  Yet they are the top players in the game.  Mods are not required to do well.

You are wrong on a few different things.

You think all mods are cheats. This is fundamentally wrong. WG has a list of illegal mods. Most mods are legal and any of the regular mod pacs are legal. Mods don't make you play better. They don't allow you to shoot better or through anything. They dont give you better camo or let you see through camo. Really none of the things most bad players blame on mods. They dont do any of it. There are some illegal mods out there but they are far more rare to see in use than players like your self always think. You making up that mods are cheats doesnt make it so.

You think all good players use mods, its the only reason they beat you. This again is wrong on the most basic levels. The players in the WGLNA  that are the top players in the game never run mods. Most of the streamers don't run mods and they are normally very good players. Of regular good players its a mix, some do some don't, but its not cheating so it really doesn't matter.

The fact that you don't understand the basic rules of the game is no ones problem but your own.

You don't understand the mechanics of the game like Camo and how to aim shots or how to use your armor in a fight are why you don't win more. The ability to look at the map and see where the other teams tanks are and know that there are only a few tanks on your side. To see that a tank is coming up behind you. these are reasons I see every day that players of your level fail to do. Knowing when to cap and not suicide on the last of their team.

Tons of super duper omega extreme unicums streaming and most of them use little to no mods...YOu can see everything.  Stop being a salty little cry baby and try to LEARN as you play...  Do an experiment, install all these mods you're talking about and see if you become super unicum after.....and of course let us know your results, we are very curious what happens. LOL Im sure you're going purple over night...

Took me only 1 day to get mine, hehe. You don't even have to win the match to get the xp added on, just be top on your own team so that is nice. I found my light tanks seemed to do well here because when bottom tier and mid tier they can rely on spotting assist to boost the xp score up higher. I also kept xp boosters going the whole time to double the xp each time I did get it. This was one of the better missions they have had. It rewards players for helping the teams even if you can't win. XP is gained from both damage and assistance from spotting and tracking so it encourages playing to help the team. Some of the past missions kind of hurt pub play with selfish players but they can't really be selfish in this mission to earn the xp. I hope that WG is smart about making future missions like this that encourages players to be useful to their teams. Two thumbs up for this mission.

Exactly. It is very easy to download a mod pack and install mods and many do this. Most are still average and worse at the game. If mods did give this great advantage, then why are those players still bad? Answer: No mod can stop you from playing like a donkey.

99% of the so called good players use mods. They always complain their mods haven't caught up every update.

Being uneducated is the worst thing there is.

Ima gonna help you out fellow tanker and educate you.

The mods the so called "good players" use are cosmetic enhancements that don't add any in game advantage.

I will go even further to explain it in lay-men terms: It looks pretty but thats all it does....

XVM, which seems to be the most hated mod, does not teach you how to hull down, side scrap, judge lead time vs shell speed, properly use a bush, handbreak, circle, etc.   In battle it gives some additional team composition  intel and cleans up some ui elements.  That's about it.  It won't miraculously convert a 200 win8 player into a 800 or a 1200 into a 3000.

I'm sure I won my last match because my crew automatically switched out tot hat tank in the garage. Oh and the fancy icons on the team lists too.
