Initially, WG wanted to add it.  It even appeared in a garage in a map that has since been taken out of the game.  But when they worked out it was one-shotting everything, they realised it was too OP, and shelved the idea.

The rocket was originally for anti-submarine purposes.  The vent holes around the muzzle reduced the recoil from the rocket.  It was capable of very high angles of elevation, since there wasn't much breech, almost straight up.

The hoist was for loading the rounds into the vehicle.  Obviously, it couldn't be used for loading the weapon itself (as one person in the past has suggested).

This vehicle was actually produced and used. A 380 mm Raketen-Werfer 61 L/5.4, with 14 rounds. You wanna see heavy and mediums in town SCREAM help ? LOL IMHO even the Japanese land ships would RUN for cover.

Rumors about the Sturmtiger in WoT are up since 9.1

I was in super test and this is as far as it went.

WG already made it and tested the tank, people moan like they are being boiled in oil when facing the Type4/5 imagine how much more when facing a 3k alpha gun. A lot of people even had the chance of seeing one in the game if you have gotten Severogorsk back in the day.

The funny thing is the the Type 4/ 5 never existed and the Sturmtiger actually saw action in WW II.

It's got a 380mm gun. For references's sake, the biggest artillery gun in the game is the T-92, clocking in at a mere 203mm. This thing would be beyond broken in the current game. Might see it in a gimmick minigame thing, though.

The turret from the Type4/5 did exist and seen service however Japan never really had the resources to produce the full tank.

The Type 4/5 turret existed "ONLY" as a shore battery.

3/4 of the vehicle never existed.

The only heavy in that line actually built, was a scale model the O-I Exp. out of construction steel.

The rest is pretty much all fiction.

What a completely practical tank and wise use of resources.

Actually it was extremely practical...... because it was meant to destroy hardened targets like bunkers and buildings.  Extremely good for its intended purpose and it was built on an already existing technology so did not strain the supply and logistics system overly much.  So yeah it was really good at what it was intended for........ but don't let that get in the way of your story!

While it would be wonderful to nuke superbalanced German/Japanese tanks witha 4k alpha nuclear blaster, the only way to somewhat "balance" it without making it disgustingly cancerous to play with would be make it a tier 10 arty.

And have it stun 1/2 the map when it fired.

I wonder if they would put this in as a arty . Alls considering it was a big self-propelled mortar in real life and loading was a chore in itself .

Being arty, it would only have a very long reload/aim time and that's it, such an inaccurate gun with slow shell velocity wouldn't be able to hit you unless you stay there for long periods of time.

As a TD, it could poke out from nowhere, oneshot a Maus and run away for the next 40 seconds, then, for the player, it would have a cancerous aim time and gun bloom that would make it so frustrating to play that oneshotting something when you actually hit would not be worth it.

I think it would be fun if they brought it in for some kind of event.

Sorry but your stupidity is really showing right now and FYI I'm 28 so I don't even qualify to be an old many yet.

There was a number of proposals on super heavy tanks.

But it did not mount to nothing.
