You have to make sure they are able to make international transactions; i.e, Internet purchases. I had someone give me VISA Vanilla cards worth $100 once, and tried to spend them here. Didn't work because they were only able to be used at physical retail stores. Check the VISA website for info.

I use Visa gift cards through Amazon. Just set up an Amazon account, and the USA thing is not a problem, plus WG sometimes offers Amazon discounts.

internet purchases and international transactions are entirely different, I can buy stuff on plenty of other sites using visa cards but they don't allow international purchases and WG forces it to be international so it won't work here

I used the visa prepaid cards before with no issues.  Now I usually just buy the KarmaKoin cards at Walgreens.

Whatever you do, don't use KarmaKoin.   How can you tell if it's a good deal or not in the Premium shop?  If KarmaKoin is an option or not.  If something is 50% off, guaranteed you won't be able to use KarmaKoin.

It's completely hit or miss with what you can and cannot buy with KK.   I was given a KK as a gift in May... and haven't used it.  The thing that really pisses me off about it, it's in a drop down menu.  So if

you were to look at a few things, you'd see Karma Koin as a payment option.  However... not everything is.

Here's some current examples:

Right now, they have the WEEKLY DEAL: EARN special
-35% off.  Includes 1,500 gold, 500k credits, 30 premium, and reserves.
It comes to $25.38 (of course the exchange rate always pushes it a few
cents over say a $25 gift card).  But you can't buy it with Karma Koin anyways.

QUICK STARTER KIT.  -49% off.   Karma Koin?  Nope.  This would be perfect gift for my kid.

STARTER BUNDLE (T-127)  -50% off.  Karma Koin?  Nope.  This would be another perfect gift for my kid.

The payment system for WOT frankly sucks.  I've never been able to do something without something causing me grief.

Just to follow up.  Today, with WOT anniversary sales, decided to use up my Karma Koin cars.   Cannot combine the cards because their site is down.  Very sketchy.

Don't trust them at all.
