Hello,

Today, I noticed the announcement on the World of Tanks launcher that the Game Center was rolling out.  That's swell; be still my beating heart.  If I hadn't already been down this road before, I'd ask, "What fresh hell is this?"  But, I have been down this road before.

I went down this road with World of Warplanes.  And, after I lost all hope that WarGaming would stop forcing its NA server customers/players to be unpaid guinea pigs for software WarGaming knew to be problematic, I uninstalled World of Warplanes.

I went down this road with World of Warships.  And, after WarGaming deleted all of the forum posts on the Game Center announcement thread, I uninstalled World of Warships.

And now, World of Tanks is excitedly (I guess they are excited because there are five exclamation points in the announcement.) saying the Game Center is coming to World of Tanks.

I am not excited.  I am, however, prepared to leave World of Tanks too if WarGaming requires the use of its garbage-ware Wargaming.net Game Center to play World of Tanks.

Period.

You'll see my tank collection on Ebay if that's the case.

Get a Mac, it isn't compatible with Macs, so we still have the plain old wrapper. ;)

It's advertising.

The upside is that you can bypass it by launching the game through the exe as long as your client is up to date.

Is this also true for World of Warplanes? Because the launcher just has the "suggestion" to install the Game Centre with no option to say no.

The concept behind the Wargaming Game Center makes sense in that they are trying to provide a [portal] for users so that all current news, etc are in one app.  I tried it when I was running MS Windows 10 Pro on my iMac when it was in beta and it seemed to run alright.  And for some it may be a good thing.  Fortunately it is optional for those of you running MS Windows.

With the release of the 9.19 client and v2.0.10 version of the WoT Mac Wrapper I have removed MS Windows.  Currently I am getting higher FPS and lower ping with the WoT Mac Wrapper and High Sierra versus the native game and MS Windows 10 Pro on my iMac.

Now if the game would only be a 64-bit app so that I could leverage the 32GB RAM in my iMac ...

the wgc interrupts your inetnet traffic and still runs in the background not to mention it affects your games and makes them have high pings. The program is poorly written and should be scrapped till further testing is done.

I also have the same question here...why does WoT insist on forcing this "new & exciting" launcher down everyone's throat. I totally regret downloading it. Have had nothing but extremely high ping & lag spikes since installing it. The old launcher worked just fine, there was no need to force this on everyone. Can't play the game with any sort of enjoyment, as every 30 meters the vehicle comes to a complete stop, waiting for the following 30 seconds it takes to reset, then guess what......."boom !!!!!! your tank is now a smoldering pile of junk".  All because the "new & exciting" launcher has some major problems with it. Hey WoT Devs...get a clue...scrap this pile of worthless junk & go back to the old one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And unless I'm really in the Twilight Zone, the effects of this crap launcher also seems to be affecting my browsers as well, slowing them down to.

Is there a way to get rid of this launcher & go back to the old one, now that I have "massively regrettably" installed it ?? Any help would be most appreciated.....

Regarding the new launcher:....at the upper left portion of the window, it has the game settings button. At the bottom of that list is a link for "Install additional game instance"....what is this & does anyone know what it's for ??

I've been using the WarGaming Center since its early testing; and I really haven't had any issues with it. May I ask what your complaints have been?

(Although I do agree that it should not be mandatory; and simply remain an option)

You do realize that you can close it after you load the game right ? I leave mine open when I know a new patch is coming while I'll be afk so it downloads automatically. Other than that I close it while on my PC.
