This is what I just sent to WG:

The game now requires your incredibly buggy and unneccesary gaming center be installed to play. I installed it before and quickly uninstalled it. It is useless and terrible and that seems to be a universal consensus among players. Please, please, please do not do this to your players. I don't want to uninstall the game.

No reputable company would do this to its customers.

I was going to update WOT and see how it looks these days, haven't played in a while because the "abuse the spotting system until it cries" meta was pretty much the opposite of fun.

But then the launcher just kept trying to force-edit the config file to allow torrents, didn't download anything, and shoved a big orange "INSTALL WARGAMING CENTER" button in my face.

Might as well uninstall WOT.

And if the same thing happens to WOWS, I'll uninstall that too.

This is funny...the new launcher also puts you in sa every once in awhile, boltsering the population there.Manipulative feebs that wg are.I find it funny that wows hasnt yet,tho they prob dont have a sa server to prop up...assidently....lol..a new word from experience with wg.

The concept of consolidation is like socialism: looks great as an idea on paper!

Then you find yourself in it and all other, older, tried-and-true methods are abolished and you find out that the brick and mortar version was MUCH more fun and less hassle.

THAT is the Game Center.
Lots of people play WG games on Macs, lots.  Not being able to replay WoT replays by simply double clicking on the replay file was "brick and mortar".  Now we have all kinds of posts all over the web for workarounds, "use the wrapper", "gotta keep it updated", "oh the wrapper doesn;t work now", etc, etc BS BS, etc etc....guesswork, workaround. BS

Yes, we want to be 'progressive' and 'improve' things.  But judging by the sheer volume of negative comments alone, WG is becoming a VERY hated company for stupid moves like this

Sometimes, before removing a fence, you should first ask yourself, "Why was the fence out up in the first place?"

So is it impossible to now play WoT without the launcher?  I haven't played in a bit and came back to this "Install our crappy game center" bull.  if so then I need to find out how to get credited back for the gold and tanks I've bought because I'm quitting WoT if they force this garbage on me.

No, it is not impossible to play WoT without the Game Center open. You do need the WGC to update easily though.

Interesting... haven't seen any notice of that yet.

It really doesn't matter to me, my client seems happy to play the game either with or without WGC, so if with is the only way in the future... so be it.

It may not come here George, but i expect the trend to continue.  I use WGC, doesn't give me any issues.

Yeah, if Ships goes that way, Tanks may be next.

Game Center and WOT.exe both work great for me.
