So, I'm thinking of expanding into the Soviet TD lines. Would it be a good move to buy the SU-100Y to use as a TD trainer, especially since it's on sale. Ideas? Suggestions?

It's a very fun tank

It's a super bad platform with a super powerful gun. Can be very frustrating but also very rewarding. It makes decent credits and trains your crews though. Overall I like mine, but don't play it too often.

122-44 all the way. Machines don't come with stronger soviet bias than Stalin's Hammer.

If you only have the cash for the 100Y, it is a very fun tank, but the 122-44 will earn you more credits and is more consistent.

Stealthy as an orange barn on fire, its still a fun tank.

That sewer pipe gun is very good at making holes in red tanks.

Decent trainer, but has a larger than normal crew for most Soviet TDs and it earns OK credits. The SU 85i is also a good Soviet trainer as is the 122-44. I would say these are both better than the barn.

The Soviet TDs have been a lot of fun for me so far. Both lines.

Pay the little extra and get the good Soviet TD.

Wish I had the gold for the 122-44, but I don't. The SU-100Y has a funny crew configuration, 2 gunners and 2 loaders. Guess that would allow me to train up gunners and loaders from 2 tanks at a time, but too bad for any radio operators.

Don't see the SU-85i on the tech tree or for purchase. Was it removed, or is it a tank given out for CW and the such?

The SU-100Y is for people with gambling addictions. There is a lot of RNG.

SU100Y is fun as hell to play. Just had a five kill game recently (very good game for me). So it can be done!

I think the SU85i comes and goes from the Premium Shop. Just not 'instock' ATM.

I was never a TD player, but I won the SU100Y through Tank Rewards a couple of months ago. All I can say is "BOOM goes the dynamite!!!"

Very fun. I always aim at the Fire For Effect badge as a minimum target and this gets it with 2 shots.

It's very situational. You either get a fun shooting gallery and bank 50k credits. Or you miss every shot, or every shot bounces, or you die in the first 2 minutes without firing a shot.

For every super fun game you will have 10 games where you get [edited]-raped because:

1. Everything can pen you from every angle like Madonna at the Sex Club.

2. You stand out (no Camo) like Madonna at the huge black [edited]convention.

I enjoy my su-100y. It's derpy, hilarious, and oozing personality. The 440 alpha damage is great; often times two shots will cover your expenses and make a profit. However, it is a HUGE target, and a priority for the enemy. Using the view range mechanics and/or sneaky close supporting are key to making ttoos tank work.

The su-122-44 sounds like great fun. It's the su-152's dpm-record-breaking gun on a fast, decently armored platform. Of course, if you can't afford it... (I can't afford it either sadly. )

The su-85i takes the kv-1 gun (85mm) and boosts the rate of fire. It has okay mobility, but mediocre alpha and pen. In return, it gets preferential mm. The su-85i is almost never on sale, but if you buy the su-152 book, you will get a bonus code for it.

Love my SU100 and SU100Y. I have the SU122-44 and SU152 parked in my garage for a few 1000 games from now when I am much better. I need to get that SU152 book!!

Heresy! Get that crew busy in both the SU100Y and SU122-44 each day. Make them earn that paycheque and double-up on the training!

I find mine often amazingly frustrating to play, the absolute lack of ability to hide is a crippling weakness for something the size of a small building, with spare Prius body panels for armor.

But I keep on playing it, for those FEW times when you actually get a long line of sight, and they just keep driving out in front of that naval gun. When you get lucky and get a clean shot, that gun is the most awesome thing ever.

Play it keeping in mind that its basically a big orange barn when it comes to concealment.

Sometimes its a big orange barn, on fire.

Not a stealthy TD, not a bit. Nice gun though. Good opportunity killer.
