It trumps every other light tank from tier 8-10. People say it has bad aim time, reload, accuracy, etc, but i get snap shotted by it constantly. Clearly the accuracy isn't bad enough.

Yeah, I know, people will disagree because they love how fun it is. But why is it fun? Because it's so broken.

You're right it's broken, they should make the dispersion when moving on the 152mm so ridiculously high that it can't hit a barn from the inside when in motion.

But...you gotta admit, it is indeed fun :-D

I agree, derps are a terrible game mechanic and should be removed instead of having more added into the game.

It's not that fun at tier 9.  Maybe only 1 out of 5 games.  sold it.

T49 is the best anti-light scout.

but its one of the worst scout role scouts

and one of the worst takes to use against non lights at tier 8,9, and 10.

so it balances out.

add to that, that 152mm gun, was good at tier 6 and 7.   by tier 9......there are 155mm guns with better AP pen, avg dmg, shell speed, accuracy, and aim time.   and those guns rip lights apart far better than the 152mm derp.

There has been a bit of debate over which gun to use on the T49 since it was reworked. Some (for example Trobsmonkey) have insisted that derp is the only way to go. Others (eg. JunkersHiryu and Zeven) argue that the 90mm on the T49 has the best DPM of any platform and is far more reliable, and so is the only logical choice. Personally, after grinding to the T54E1 with using the derp, and raging at being unable to hit anything at range on the few open maps where LT's should shine, have mounted the 90. But I do miss the LOL moments of the derp.

So, yes. I would tend to agree with the OP. The Derp is broken. But broken is not the same as Overpowered. The Derp is not Overpowered on the T49.

You can't complain about premium rounds if you don't do the same about derp guns. After all, they do the same thing as prem. Allow you to damage a tank without aiming for weakspots.

T49 is fine and it has its place in the game

Oh you mean like the Russian T-34? Seriously, I had a battle where I got completely out-aimed and out-precisioned by a BT7 Artillery, in that thing. It hit me every shot and I hit it maybe once, very odd since the barrel on the T-34 is long and skinny and looks like someone mounted a big rifle onto a tank. The Chinese T-34 is almost as bad but not quite. Perhaps they broke something in the code for the gun's aiming parameters?

It stands out for its unique capabilities, leave it as as.

biggest issue with any tank is the 100% fake [edited]DERP mechanics. It was designed for light armor vehicles and buildings. Things with even medium armor and up and especially if angled would take little to no damage from them as they couldn't pen armor for [edited].

It surprising that they haven't nerfed it significantly as yet

ANY other high Caliber barrels tank in this game that tried to shoot before the bloom circle was fully dialed and and not stationary would certainly miss

But it appears that this BS OP 155mm Joke doesn't need to aim, only splash for 300 to 400 damage a shot.

You obviously have never played the T49. The derp on it misses all the time - especially if you are being a mobile LT. Yes, it can pop out from behind a building and slam a shell into a close neighbor. But the gun stats on it are really bad - and it shows when you replay it.

Of course, you remember the times it did actually work against you. That is the way broken mechanics works. But broken does not mean overpowered.

It doesn't need really good gun stats as it has the mobility.

What gun in that range has good stats anyways, I would guess none.

And I would say it's Over Powered for the caliber of tank its mounted on.

And unbalanced as well!

If you could stop trying to give WG an excuse to make even more light tanks lose everything unique about them that'd be great.

The tank has potential, but how it performs varies on maps, location, and of course the enemy. I don't think it's overpowered mainly because it isn't efficient at killing heavy and stronger mediums consistently or at range. It is just really good at close range and it should be.

Yesterday, a T49 shot snapshotted my RU251 three times while zooming around. Fortunately, I survived the first two hits (tracks). So yeah, it is broken.
