Jumo to T29 leaves you with a T29 equipped with a 76mm gun.  No bueno.

The T1 and M6 path will get you the 90mm to start with, a much better grind.

As far as Jumbo or Easy 8, it's a simple question:  Do you prefer mobility and rapid fire guns or do you prefer reliable-at-tier armor and a 105mm derp gun?  Given how much mobility impacts the ability to carry a match, I'd suggest the E8.

you will end up doing them all, they are all great tanks, i went the jumbo route first (Dat turret armor and derp) going to do the m6 and Easy 8 also.

Yeah, don't go to the T29 from the Jumbo. Then you'll be stuck with only a 76mm gun to start and will be basically useless until you grind out the 90mm. If you grind to the T29 via T1-->M6, then you'll at least have the 90mm gun unlocked, which is serviceable. Plus, the T1 and M6 are decent tanks, more like giant mediums with great guns. I liked both of them. You should play them.

i had the 90mm unlocked already when i went from the jumbo to the t29, from the hellcat/Jackson perhaps.

I strongly recommend unlocking the T29 from the M6 if you want to do anything right, as for the mediums it comes down to how you play. If you like having a little bit of working armor than use the Jumbo with the stock turret, if you don't mind the reduced speed you can ignore unlocking the top engine as you will get that for free from unlocking the T20. The easy8 is more if you want mobility and the use of a slightly better potato gun than the Jumbo.

T20 is punchy for tier 7 though it can't take a hit much like the T25 Pilot but the T29 is considered by many to be the best tier 7 tank in the game except for maybe the E25 and Su-122-44.

T1 Heavy and the M6 are very good tanks. Play them like fat mediums.

Jumbo just a bad medium pretending to be a heavy. Given the number the OP tier 8 premiums you will face in a teir 6, the Jumbo goes from bad to worse. You cannot slug it out and you cannot run away in a Jumbo

The Hellcat and Jackson use a different 90mm gun. The 90mm on the T29 you can only get from the M6 or the tier 7-9 US Mediums (T20, Pershing, M46)

You got 2 options to the heavy line.

  1. Go back to the T1 and grind to the T29.
  2. Research the T29 through the Jumbo but move on to the T20 where you can research the 90mm.

Besides the correct answer is Easy 8. You get the medium for the medium, not for a wanabe heavy.

T1 Heavy and M6 are both excellent Heavy tanks for their tiers so give them a shot.

Most probably prefer the E8, but I had more fun with the E2.  The derp gun and the strong frontal armor are a good combo.

Btw, there should be an On-Track for the Medium line in November, so you could maybe focus on the Heavy line for now, and the Medium line in 2-3 months.

1. Both tanks have the same guns

2. If you research the 90mm on the T20 before you get the T29 you won't have to worry about having to grind it with the 76mm either.

Go the heavy route, besides the gun for the T29, you can also learn to start angling the armor which becomes very important.  Playing heavies is different than meds

US heavy T29 is what this thread is about , you are thinking of the Russian T-29 they were going to give away for the anniversary.
