I am in NZ and have an account on Asia server and if you are considering changing to Asia from NA I have only one piece of advice for you: Don't.

1) The ping actually no better - not even that much difference to East and now probably no better to the single NA server. West may even have been better than Asia

2) I have actually been warned on this forum for calling the Asia server what it is so I am not going to repeat that suffice to say that there is NOTHING that could entice me back to playing on Asia

3) If anything I wish I could transfer my Asia account to NA....

Even though my schedule means I can only make Clan Wars on Asia, my ping is trash and about to get worse and I have more meta tanks here, I'm still staying. I thoroughly recommend not making the switch. The Asia community is pretty toxic, and not many people speak english so there's lots of name calling and not much communication. Nobody knows what teamwork is, but everyone knows what redline sniping is. If you thought teams on NA are uncooperative, think again.

Clan Wars is also [edited] for english speakers on both Fronts unless you're in either RAISE, CROWN, PYRO or LIFE.

OH, AND the team there doesn't give a rats [edited]about the community. The deals are [edited], the support is [edited]and the communication has gotten better but still is [edited]. Well, the deals are [edited]unless you're spending 50 bucks on the game every week for their "new, fancy and excellent deals."

I am not sure what internet connection you're on.... I also live in New Zealand and i get 130-140ms ping to Asia and 150-160 ping to USW.  My ping to the new server in Chicago will be 200ms, so I will definitely transfer to the Asia server if i can.  I also have a few friends who play on Asia so it will be good to play with them!

I'd say be glad you're in NZ rather than AU, was finally forced to move to the NBN (due to threats of internet disconnection) and my ping has gone from 200 on West to 300, which isn't that hard to deal with, it's the terrible packet loss that's come hand in hand with it that makes it so hard. Will probably make a quick account on the Asia server under a different email address to test the connection before moving if the Central server doesn't work out.

Well everybody knows that NZ made the right choice to go with fibre to the home instead of cable :-)  Here I am with a true gigabit connection (920mbs down) while you're struggling with NBN

My ping to SEA is 10ms (I'm in SG) and it's very tempting.. I have a low tier account there which I've mostly only played for marathons, and gameplay seems fine.

The lack of communication isn't all that big a deal, since I probably only have 1 game out of every 50 on NA where my team actually tries to work with me..

Anybody has a high tier SEA account for me to play with? Don't really feel like playing the Pilot with zero crew skills..

Does anyone know what the ping is on the EU server from Queensland or the East coast of Aus? I'm sort of interested in transferring to there for a bigger server pop.

My ping to EU from New Zealand is around 300ms, so it would be slightly more for Queensland i'm guessing.  300ms ping is almost unplayable, I would really not recommend transferring to EU if you live in Aussie.  If you mostly play in the evenings you could Transfer to Asia as there are usually at least 10k players online in the evenings.

300ms, yeah I don't think I could deal with that. If I play East its over 250 and laggy AF, West is 180 tops and that is fine. I might have to create a EU account and see how it goes before transferring over.

Cheers for the reply mate.

I get about 160 ms to West and 230 ms to East - and have at times had much higher and less stable ping - but I would NOT go back to Asia even if it was 16 - 23 ms. That is all.

I dont understand all the crap that gets thrown at the ASIA server, IMO there is no difference in playstyle between NA and ASIA and Ive played plenty on both servers

This transfer will benefit AU/NZ players who are missing out on CW and other clan activities

If i play in Indo/AU/NZ i would prefer stay in NA.

I am declining transfer to ASIA, I have no interest into SEA server.

my ping is fine 240-300ms with router AC asus gaming router plus vanilla client.

apparently

https://worldoftanks...t-server-merge/

Will accounts be transferred or duplicated to another server?
We will share more information soon on our transfer programs, but all transfers will be one-way to the destination with no account duplication. Your entire account will be moved as part of the transfer and this is a one-way ticket. You may only return to North American servers through starting an entirely new account. Our immediate focus is on our players who are closer to a regional server they are currently not using. For example, players in Australia or New Zealand may want to transfer to the APAC server; or players who live in EU countries might want to join the much closer EU server.

How high a tier you want? I have a t9 on an account with like 400 games and a few prefs as well.

I don't play it much, but am considering it if everyone on NA moves to SEA

I reckon I will move to SEA.

Last time I tried it the ping was pretty bad, but this time the ping was 140-170ms from NZ so even better than NA West server.

I don't know how the social thing will be but I will probably have enough friends moving too, and there seem to be some NZ/AUS clans.

Sad really - nearly 6 years playing on the NA servers but getting into games faster does not matter if the games you get into are not fun to play.

Stable ping around 250-300ms are more than playable, not the best for peekaboo or sniping, but it's definitely workable. I'm almost always on 300ms.

If anyone's harping on 150ms that turned 200ms, that's an overreaction. Think twice.

Give it a week or two of play to acclimatize to the new ping.

Support window should still be open if you still want to transfer.
