Guys if you are thinking of transferring make an account on the asian server first and try it out...

I transferred years ago with my clan and for the first 2 months had a ping of 40-50 after that the server was a laggy mess and way way worst then the US server ever was and could not come back... i ended up leaving a 40k+ battle account behind and coming back to the US server.

Go and read the asian forums of people begging to transfer back to the US

Well the US server is unplayable from Brisbane on Telstra and Optus so if there is no AU option and SEA continues to be plagued with outages to the Pacific pipe then its  likely curtains for the AU WOT community

Yup. I had an account on the Asian server from years ago - and left it because the game play was so rubbish (even worse than what Central is now). I just loaded the game for there tonight, and tried it. NAC ping is 200-240 (used to get 140-180 on NAW), but Asia is even worse, at 300-340. As for the gameplay (well, lower tiers at least), it's horrible. Team mates ramming your tank out into the enemy fire, 'because they want your spot'. No idea of backing a team mate in an attack. Sheesh - one game, the whole team all went and sat on top of a hill in the middle of the arena...

One thing I am sure of - I will NOT be transferring there. And good luck to any poor sods who do - if they're silly enough to not do as the OP suggests.

anyone any idea when cable likely to be fixed tried Sea server bought a few premiums to see what the gameplay is like at tier 8 and majority of players were skilled however they do play differently on certain maps and its easy to just go to where we all fight on an NA server and find yourself all alone.

I think as long as they can fix the undersea cable and get the ping back to sub 200 I'm tempted to switch across.

I'm playing form Brisbane Queensland Australia and i'm getting massive lag and lag spikes. I do as you suggest though and try a new account on the SEA server as well, if it is as bad as you say I'm gonna be pissed off, i've spent  probably 5 years and 1000+ Australian pesos on the game.  If I'm to be [edited] without lube, much rage.

OK, in the interests of accuracy, I need to correct the ping times... At the time, I was trialling a 4G wireless broadband from Vodafone. Turns out the up and down load speeds were fantastic (50Mbs), but their was quite a bit of lag being introduced. For various reasons, we decided to stay with our current provider on ADSL. Speeds are way down, but I'm now getting ping to NAC of 180-240, with it mostly in the 200-220 range, and ping to Asia is even more improved at 180-220.

The gameplay is still bad though. Lol - actually, now I've spent a bit more time there - the Asia battles have been ending on a far more balanced level than the NA battles (a lot less 3-4 dead on one side when the other side is wiped out, and more 3-4 left on either side, fighting it out for the victory). Go figure...

Why does anyone keep saying check ur ping when the cable between Perth and Singapore is currently under repairs, I know when the cable works fine I'll be getting pings in the low 100s (usually 110-120). I can never play WoT for long before it becomes an exercise in frustration anyway, whenever the cable goes down again, I'll just play something else until fixed, easy as that.

The cable is fixed, I am from Melbourne, my ping to SEA during play is 90-110ms. My ping to the US Central is 250 with some packet loss (which is the worse thing).

The game is so very playable at ~100ms vs 250ms.

The cable has been down/broken for the last 6 or so weeks, hence the connection/lag is very bad.  Try it now.  Also there is now going to be a AU Server going live on Nov 1st.  Expected ping from NZ/AU is 20-40ping!!!

Going to be interesting to see Eraser. Goes live tomorrow, so jump on your Asia account and see what it is like.   I've been getting 30-40 ping in garage, so thinking 50 ping.  Population will be the thing to see.

Another great thing is though that CWs for the first 5 TZS will be played on the AU Server!

Does anyone know when I can expect another wave of account moves?

According to the support team I need to wait for another 'transfer period'...
