And put a guy in a family that needs a car, you'll see those Audi, Ferrari, Crapvette and whatever else votes disappear.

The women in this poll apparently voted realistically, the men apparently idealistically.

I'm pretty sure that everything in this thread (not discounting my post) is pointless.

Have a good one.

Real men drive trucks. Ferraris are for spoilt rich kids who will never work a day in their lives.

Most of those high-end cars I really don't want to own; I just want to borrow them for a week or so! My daily driver is a Focus ST and it's hard to argue that you really need any more car.

MINI Coopers get a bad rap.  They're phenomenally sporty cars, like a go-kart on steroids, and have won every major rally in the world.  I'd love to own one.

In my single days, I drove 280Z's, now that was a helluva car. Perfect for city or highway, especially in heavy traffic situations. The car was all front end, no rear to speak of, plenty of power and acceleration and easy to dart in and out of lanes. On the highway, it would cruise all day at 90+ and I used to refer to it as a stealth car, I never got pulled over in it. Wish I had kept either of the two I owned, a 76 and the 78. The 300 series was a dog in comparison.

Women prefer a guy who is good at managing his money.  Cars are a horrible investment: they suck money out of you from the moment you buy them to the moment you get rid of them.  It's not just the cost of the car; it's the insurance, the maintenance, etc.  If people were sensible, they would think of cars the same way they think of insurance: yes, you need it, but you should really get the minimum to satisfy those needs.

If you want to chase the kind of girl who judges a guy by how much money he flashes in public via his car ... good luck with that.  Many men before you have made the mistake of going with gold-diggers, and they always regret it.

Whats wrong with the Vette.  The new ones are cool looking.  I have no Idea why they spend $50k on a n old one and spend another $50  restoring it.  I say let the old cars die.  Trucks block peoples view.  The hell if I ever want a 100 Hp car like a Suzuki or something.  Minimal cars are slow as hell.  My Elantra don't suck money.  It always works.  I have 0 problems.  Also I get that take off like a rocket feeling and zip around the big slow ones.   Job is a major factor in what car you get..  Also I hardly know anything about half the girl cars.  I'd probably hate the Juke, the Scion, and the Kia.  I know an old male coworker that has a Rav4.  What is a Matrix?

Also my girl cousin owns a Jeep Wrangler

this is what I hate A typical impeding traffic law says: No person shall drive upon a highway at such a slow speed as to impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, except when reduced speed is necessary for safe operation, because of a grade, or compliance with the law.

I am getting around to checking viability of buying a BMY M923A2 at auction.

You know, for getting back and forth to work.

Never know if you will need to cross a 7ft deep creek or a mud hole just pops up out of nowhere.

Wife's goal car right now (until she can afford a McLaren, which won't be happening any time soon) is a Maserati GT convertible. Which, in fairness, will be a while as well. I'm gunning for an Audi S6 as something which is tantalisingly withing reach, if I'm willing to sacrifice a few other goals.

That said, for weekend fun, we're kicking around something like a 69 Chevelle or 71 Charger. Not sure quite how we'll manage it, not least, we don't have room for the thing, let alone the time to actually complete a project car, but we do like the idea and have been keeping an eye out for a good buy.
