LoL hardly, have a family with only 1 child. wife used to drive a SRT-8 charger.  then we got civic hybrid... great car for mileage terrible car  for fun factor SOLD in a year.... settled with a jackson supercharged b18 engine swap in a civic Si. thats the family fun car.   i drive a 01 Z06,    400HP and good for 32MPG.  Both cars have stereo systems with 1000+ watts and subs.  oh yeah  and we have a SUV for winter/rain.  hauling etc.

a car is one of the most expensive items you will own. why on gods earth would you want to own a boring vehicle that only transports you from a-b. even worse if you have to drive to work/school every day, make that 10-30 minutes enjoyable.

a High end car you do your own maintenance on is very affordable for anyone. i paid half of retail on the Z06 with 50k miles.   and besides tires/brakes.  spent maybe $600 on repairs (parts) over 12 years of ownership.  so for less than $2000 a year i got to crush 99% of the cars on the road and rip up the track/back roads. all the while taking my kid to school everyday...and picking up grocery's.

Pity.

Out of those listed, I'd get the GMC Sierra. I'm more on the utilitarian side. But, I still prefer Chevy, Ram, or Toyota pickups.

Women driving pickups are kind of attractive.

Women prefer a guy who is good at managing his money.  Cars are a horrible investment: they suck money out of you from the moment you buy them to the moment you get rid of them.  It's not just the cost of the car; it's the insurance, the maintenance, etc.  If people were sensible, they would think of cars the same way they think of insurance: yes, you need it, but you should really get the minimum to satisfy those needs.

If you want to chase the kind of girl who judges a guy by how much money he flashes in public via his car ... good luck with that.  Many men before you have made the mistake of going with gold-diggers, and they always regret it.

Very mature comment. I drive a Corolla, btw (lol).

Any statement that begins with "women prefer" is destined to be wrong.  And you are looking at the issue from the wrong vantage point.  A personal vehicle is not just transportation.  It is a toy to be enjoyed.  A world where everyone drives an econobox ends in everyone wearing beige homespun and living in prefab modules with the number of rooms based on the number of children they have.  That's hell.  If my wife finds me more attractive because I bought her a nice SUV and take her on several vacations a year, that makes her normal, not a golddigger.  Every species on Earth has evolved to favor successful mates.  Humans are no different.  And fyi, those people with the nice cars usually also have nicer houses, better insurance and bigger pensions.  It doesn't take long for the people in the dating scene to figure out if their new boyfriend/girlfriend is a poseur or actually just successful.

I think a the lines have blurred between what is considered a guy's car and a girl's car... personally as a girl I'd prefer to drive a T7 Combat Car around.  :)

Why anyone would want to be with someone who judges them based on the vehicle they drive is beyond me.  Good luck with that.  The good ones don't care what you drive.

Real men owns a jeep. Can't go four wheeling in a 200k plastic toy.

Yawn, two wheeling is much more fun, costs a heck of a lot less money, and can go places those expensive 4x4s can't even dream of going.

We have one 4 1/2 year old and my wife drives a BMW X5 50i with the 4.4-literbTwinPower Turbo V-8 and loves it, its quick when she needs it and quite roomy for when we have family trips. She hated the idea of having to give up her M car for a SUV but is happy with it as it fits here fast driving style.

I currently drive a Hellcat challenger and my little girl love the car and always wants to ride with daddy lol .

Keep in mind that I was responding to someone who said women prefer men who spend a lot of money on cars.  Given that financial stress is one of the leading causes of divorce, I don't think it's a stretch to say that managing your money wisely is a much safer approach, unless of course you're filthy rich.  And even then, be wary of any woman who's impressed by money.

I see the point I was trying to make about avoiding people who are attracted to a fat wallet went completely over your head, since your response basically boiled down to "but what if my wallet is genuinely fat".

I for one hate trucks.  I hate how they go so slow especially big SUVs.  The worst is when you add a cell phone.  Big SUV + cell phone = worst scenario. I hate how they just camp and block view.  I have no interest in haling stuff or people around.  I could careless about engine noise.   Give me Sirius radio and channel 41 Turbo.  My Elantra has it built in.  I love that channel.  [edited]country music and pickup trucks.  [edited]the rednecks and their pick up trucks.

little trucks are ok like Rangers and small SUVs like a Nissan Rogue

Its the big ones I hate

I think the most hilarious are the 90 lb women driving around in 3 ton trucks to pick up their groceries.

Only time sports cars look bad is when you have a large person like Shaq in a sports car like the General Insurance commercial.

Sports cars are definitely macho and guy like.  Trucks are for people like Shaq.  Sticking a large guy in a Smart car don't make any sense.

To me boxy shape for a vehicle is ugly .  Pickups and muscle cars are boxy.  Probably the mostly ugly vehicle is the Honda Element  and the Pontiac Aztec.  Pontiac is gone though so it was short lived.

Senior partner in my firm has the Audi S8.  It will take your eyeballs out of round.  The S7 and S6 are fantastic cars and I drool every time one goes by, but WOW is Audi proud of them.  You can get a comparable M or AMG and have enough for a medium sized boat left over.

The local dealer had a certified pre-owned 2014 S8 available a few months back for less than the price of a new S6. I'm not in the market for another couple of months, but it was still very tempting...

Not sure where you're going with the S6/S7 costs, though, unless you're thinking RS7 costs. It seems about in the middle to me. The comparable mid-sized V8 from Mercedes is about $20k more expensive, the Cadillac is over $10k more, only the BMW is cheaper, and only by a couple thousand. Can't get a boat for that. The RS7 is another kettle of fish entirely, and probably shouldn't be compared directly with the M5 or the E63.

You are correct, not the M and AMG. I was comparing 2 year olds.  It was 2014 when I was looking at the S7 versus a BMW 550 and a CTS-Vsport.  To be fair, the S7/S6 actually sit under the AMGs and Ms in performance.  The RS versions sit a little above.  That is part of the price discrepancy in my mind.  The S7/S6 slide in between the top engined standard models of the competitors but below the sport tuned marques.  A 2015 S7 runs $7-10,000 more than a 2015 BMW 550i, Cadillac V-Sport or Jaguar XFR.  Maybe a pair of jetskis, if not a boat.  ;)

And when my partner gets something new, I'm going to make a push for his 2104 S8 at a decent price.  He's babied it.

I use to own nothing but American-assembled vehicles but now will only buy Canadian-assembled due to comments coming from Americans.

Funny when someone laughs at you for buying a 'foreign car' (Honda made in Ontario) when their vehicle was made in Mexico.

going on the record here.  The Mazda Miata is NOT a "girls car". It is a fantastic and highly competent machine.  I want a new one sooooooo bad.  Too bad I have kids/dogs...
