Given the two or three second flight time on the shells, the huge splash on a lot of the higher tier shells, and the absurdly high RNG on the shots, all combined with the need to fire fairly close to allies if you want to complete any of the "damage while stunned" missions would lead to a fair bit of splash.  Especially when your allies seem quite happy to run right into the big yellow circle... that doesn't really surprise me.  And since they *removed* the "zero splash" option for an arty shell, I'd expect team damage to go way the heck up as people try to do these personal missions.

Still funny to see, you're a lot more likely to take a team-damage shot from something else.  I honestly didn't expect that either.

If you can't account for your own tanks you shouldn't be playing it.

100% of the team damage and kills I caused with all of my arty games was entirely intentional.

I have never once accidentally damaged my own team member with a SPG.

Maybe it's just an accident like when face hugging a tank and your own arty shoots you

I hate arty, and when I get side[edited]ed by them repeatedly... I become color blind.

I'm not gonna say I'd TK them, but if an enemy were to slip by me and kill our arty, I wouldn't mind...

Sky cancer is for lazy and degenerate players who make the game that much more toxic for other players, very bad game mechanic and it needs to be either removed or people be given the option of excluding it from their battles. WG gave it a chance with the changes and so did a lot of paying players like myself but clearly it needs to go.

While my proclivity towards arty is well known, I have never TK'd an team mate SPG.

Now, I may not have made much, if any, of an effort to help/protect team mate SPG's, that really is another matter entirely.

Hey they're just doing it before the arty can drown himself, because I keep seeing arty players instantly kill themselves at the game start because they think its unfair.

You play the most reviled class in this game (for good reason) and you expect respect from people?

I'm not going to indulge you by stating a case for or against the presence of arty in the game, as I think it is here to stay, but if WG announced they were removing it I would not lament. Not all players feel that way and if WG did remove it then a lot of players, even if they were compensated satisfactorily, may stop playing the game. There are a lot of die hard arty players out there.

Of course, it does not occur to you that it is players like you that is the reason arty is in the game? I think it would be better to ban XVM to stop arty players who use it to target the better enemy players. I have never thought it fair and we will never have a level playing field until XVM is removed from the game. It just encourages selfish players.

Just a little anecdote for you. In times when the Viking invaders were the scourge of their neighbours, it was considered that archers were "dishonourable" as they did not face their foe with sword, axe or spear. They were, however, a necessary evil, in that their primary function was to seek out, wound, or kill the most lethal looking enemy warriors. By doing so, they were improving the odds for their own side to win the battle with fewer losses.

When it comes to winning, the end justifies the means.

Have fun.

Guffy.
