Hello tankers.

I had visions of owning a Batchat and thus started the AMX tree grind. Sadly having spent hours stabbing myself in the eye with a burnt stick (Read "playing an AMX 12t") I have enough XP to open up the AMX 1375.

I also have the T71 unlocked due to a Tech Tree rejig and so I just need to buy it. I don't know the T71 at all but it reads and youtubes fine.

One thing that has me worried about the 1375 is the gun depression. I hate nothing more than having constrictions when I'm trying to aim and so I have to reposition my tank to get a shot on target.

So what should I play? Any pearls of wisdom or questions I need to answer?

I have a guide for amx 13 75 coming putting some finishing touches.  T71 is better on paper but amx 13 75 is sexier.

If you didn't like the AMX 12t then you probably don't want to struggle through the 13 75 and BC12t.

I liked the French line - had to grind 3 tanks off the 13 90 and still thought it was a blast to play.  But, the T71 is a great tank that can do most of the stuff you need to do with a light tank (missions, etc).

So yeah.... T71 sounds like a better choice.

AMX 13 75 leads to the Bat Chat.  Hope that answers your question.

T71 >>>> 13 75

That said, the batchat and 30B are both pretty good and the 13 105 is significantly better than the Sheridan from what I've heard.

I currently have both in my garage and they are some of my primary favorite tanks to play in pubs currently due to tier 7 getting the best mm of mid tiers since the changes to light tanks. I like both tanks and they have strengths and weaknesses:

Pros and cons when comparing the two tanks:

Amx 1375

Pros

-Better camo and a smaller tank means it is stealthier than the T71, moving and when hiding in bushes.

-Small so it can be extra sneaky. You can hide the entire tank in very small bushes.

-Fast reloading of the clip. With vents and a good crew, the clip reload is under 14 seconds.

-Much cheaper ammo. The standard ammo is cheaper and the gold round is 1/2 the cost compared to T71 (2800 credits vs 5600). I really don't use many gold rounds on these tanks because they have enough speed to either flank or simply go find a target that is easy to pen. With how good tier 7 mm is now, usually most matches have plenty of targets that are easy to damage.

-Better gun handling parameters when moving the tank and turret. You will find that the aiming circle won't bloom as bad on the amx compared to the T71 when moving around. Tanks.gg will confirm this.

Cons

-Worse view range of 370 m compared to T71 which gets 390 m. This means you would have to run food with the optics to boost it up to good levels for a light tank.

-Turns a bit slow for a light tank but I have played the T67 so much that slow traverse does not bother me.

-Bad gun elevation and I mean really bad. If you need to lift your gun up, there will be many times that you simply can't point it high enough to aim at a target. Gun depression is -6 so that is not good but not as bad as the -5 that many tanks have in this game. The T71 gets -7.

-Shells only do 135 damage per shot compared to the T71 with it's 150 damage per shot.

-Only 4 shells/magazine. The T71 gets 6.

T71

Pros

-Better view range. With an ok crew you can run optics and vents and max out your spotting range. You don't have to run food to do this like in the amx.

-Much faster track traverse makes circling enemy tanks much easier. I have fought enemy amx 1375 and was able to move around them so fast that they couldn't even score one hit as I dumped my 6 shells into their tank, destroying them.

-More alpha and a 6 shot drum. T71 gets 150 alpha compared to amx's 135 and it has 2 more shells/drum. 900 damage/clip means I can seek out targets with 900 or less hp left and kill them in one clip and then scoot out of there. The amx can average 540 damage/clip so you have to be aware of that when you are solo and need to kill the enemy tank. I generally go after tanks with 750 and less hp left in my T71 so that allows for 1 missed shot or bad rng. For the amx I generally can go after tank with 500 hp or less and clip them out reliably.

-Gun depression of -7 is slightly better than the amx and the gun elevation is significantly better than the amx. The gun elevation advantage is very noticeable.

Cons
-Worse camo than the amx.

-Larger tank means it can be easier to hit compared to the small amx.

-The standard round cost more to use even though they do more damage/shot. The gold rounds are insanely expensive but they do work well to punch through the front of those pesky OI tanks if you only have frontal shots at them at range and they are in one of those corridors. Usually I never even have to use any gold rounds in these tanks because they are so speedy that I can just move around to find a better target or better shot.

-Slightly worse gun handling than the amx. You can notice the aiming circle bloom is slightly worse with the T71 compared to the amx when you are moving the tank around. It's not really a big issue.

I play both of these tanks and do ok in them (above average). Two marks of excellence on both tanks and a 57% w/r on T71 and 56% w/r on the amx playing solo which is above average.

I may have missed a few things here or made some mistakes as I quickly just typed this up and posted. Correct any mistakes if you see them.

AMX 13 75 is nerfed. a t7 tank with top gun being t6. gun depression AND elevation suck. its actually worse than the 12T. No idea why WG doesnt at least give it the entry gun of the bc12t. instead of fixing existing tanks WG is focused on cranking out a new premium eveyr week to raise cash.

The amx 12T has several problems. 2.5 seconds between inter reloading of the shells compared to only 2 seconds on the amx 1375 combined with a clip reload of 20 seconds on the 12T compared to 14 seconds on the 1375. It takes longer to empty your clip so you take more damage from enemy fire due to over exposure and then you are out of the fight for 20 seconds while your clip reloads. If you had a 6 shot drum instead of 4, this might be acceptable but with a 4 shot drum, it's really not very good. If they gave it a 16 second drum reload, it might be worth it. Plus the gun handling is better on the tier 7 tank compared to the tier 6. If you have a clue on how to play auto loader light tanks, the amx 1375 is OP for it's tier. If you can't make it work, it's not the tank's fault.

Thanks everyone. I'll grab the T71 next time it's on sale. I already have the T49 so it's just for a bit of fun. Think I'll leave the 1375 locked and see if the tech tree gets changed some time.

I kept my amx 1375 because it is just fun to play. I know it is no T71 but I have just as much fun in it. If i had another good french crew, I would play the bc12t to unlock the 1390. The amx 1390 is supposed to be lots of fun so you should work up to that. You should be able to train a crew up if you are starting at the tier 6 tank and grinding up the tech tree.

Thanks all for your advice.

As far as modules are concerned. No Rammer is available so I'm thinking Gun Laying, Stabilizer and Binos.

Any suggestions?

Gld, and verts are bad combination. Use vents instead. Always verts over gld.

So vertical Stab / Vents and Binos? Is that correct?

BC12t is leagues better than the AMX12t or the 13 75.  More mobile, good view range, and better firepower overall (even with the 4 round clip)...
