after purchasing the new tank, i figured it would be on par with other tanks, boy was i wrong, it has a reload time of ten years, it's slow as hell for a medium tank, and it cannot take any hits whatsoever.

the best part is, because it's seen combat, no refunds available.

this tank ether needs a buff, or refunds should be offered, it's absolute trash

If I were you I'd keep in mind just what the STG's competition is. Tier 8 mediums are currently in a very awkward place in the meta, and that's not even exclusively because of the 3/5/7 MM. If you can find a different tier 8 medium that's easier to use in the current state of things, then I'm all ears.

Buyer Beware. A good policy is to be patient and let others play it for a while to get a better overview of a Premium than being impulsive with your purchase before you know what the potential of a given tank is.

it is underwhelming

but in that regard, its no different from tier 8 meds

though, unlike ALOT of tier 8 meds...it at least has high alpha,  good pen(3rd highest of tier 8 meds),  and great accuracy.

the turret is reliable.

as for dpm,  yes reload is slow.  but dpm is a bit above average for tier 8 meds.   so it fits in

all in all.  it fits perfectly in with the underwelming tier 8 meds   as tier 8 heavies continue to dominate.(as they have for years and years. the closest tier 8 meds had to having a turn was T-54 ltwt.......which wasnt even a med)

and be glad it doesn't have T34's rof....

From the reviews i saw , basically the STG is a true tier 8 med. , it has it's weaknesses(slow med., hull armor)  and  then a great but slow reload gun.   Most likely the player will make or break this tank, most likely a learning curve for most players.

Plus , i agree with what others players have already said, let others buy the latest greatest tanks, and then see what they say about it.

The STG/Guard just proves that WG can sell ice to an Eskimo. The morons at WG release op after op T8 premiums, community goes crazy, WG already said they wont nerf another premium, so they release this totally average T8 med. I am one who buys most premiums. I normally cant get WG to take my money fast enough. However, with the new "punished T8" 3/5/7 MM, I am holding onto my cash a little tighter. Not really interested in blatant OP (GF-252) but to buy an average T8 med, um no. Not worth being "cannon fodder" for T10 in 65% of matches I play in a tank I paid real money for.

Play the IS-6 and you'll see underwhelming...

Also you can have a refund in credit form.

I disagree, I think it's a great tank.

On mine I have 11s reload, 2.2s aim time, and better cammo than 3 out 5 of my tier 10 lights.

Play it like a sniper when you can.

Op, it's your money and you have every right to spend it however you want.

You also have 1072 battles (since April 2012). Unless you're a reroll (and stats say NO ), you really should not be in a tier 8 yet.

Put it on the shelf for a while and learn the basics of the game. You may find it to be a bit better then.....ok, no, you won't but you'll know more of what its limitations are.

Did you not watch any of the videos that have been put out?  All the issues you describe were discussed in them.  Always watch the videos, found on You Tube.  Whether you agree with them or not, they do tell you about a tanks strengths and weakness's, no matter how good or bad the You Tuber plays it.

Underwealming=balanced it's a premium tank and a money maker not a game changer. I wish the game never strayed from that concept but you can always tell those whom forgot what the premiums were supposed to do.

What you could do next time, buy a lower tier prem tank and learn the game....then buy the tier 8 prem and enjoy them. I'm only telling you this from experience...i did the same with the T34....

I avoided buying this premium, as I thought it was kind of dubious when I looked at the stats and watched youtube videos about it. I probably could make this tank work as a support tank/sniper. But lately the price for what you're getting is a tad on the high side. I would rather spend my money on a tank that I could get full use out of like the french or chinese TD's that haven't been released yet.

More soviet mediums, lol. That's what everyone needs. :P

There was plenty of feedback on the tanks abilities from YouTube reviews, not sure how high your expectations were but there was nothing online that would have misinformed you (unless it was a Wargaming video).

The tank is average, good or bad depends on the player.

Wait you think all those tanks listed are OP? How bad are you at actually aiming?! Liberte is maybe a bit op as top tier but no more so than the IS-3. In 3/5/7 matches against T10 its just more cannon fodder. Patriot is a bit more OP due to turret armor but "skill rounds" negate that pretty quickly. Defender/252U I will give you that one right up till you consider its aweful gun, but its still OP overall. Lorraine?! You cant be serious. Its not even close to OP on tier much less against the all too often T10 match ups. The thing cant clip out any tank and its armor is paper. At best its decent at "clean up work" on low health tanks. The Guard is in the same type of situation. Like I said, its just another T8 for T10s to use as cannon fodder.

If you ask me, this game needs more mediocre and underwhelming tanks. The idea that new tank that's introduced/rebalanced has to be "better" in some way than its peers is what's ruining the overall balance of this game.
