WoT isn't fun anymore.

 

I am running out of one hour personal reserves because I can't stand to play longer than an hour anymore. The sheer frustration combination of stat padding top tiers in the A and K rows, RNG that predetermines 33.3% of battles and just sheer stupidity in the player base has made this game a chore to play.

 

I keep hoping for better.

Well, you DO have nearly 46k games...  Perhaps you should take a break for a few weeks and then come back fresh and ready to rock-n-roll?

Sounds like you need to take a break.  I've been playing on and off since 2011 and I usually play until I stop having fun.  Then I give it a rest until the "thrill" comes back.

I've taken a few extended breaks, it helps, but I find myself playing a lot less than I used to. To me the game just isn't as good as it used to be a couple of years ago.

Take a break and try to stay away from anything tank related. See how long till you gravitate back.

Maybe what you need is a bigger challenge.  Start a clan full of misfits and try turning them into tankers.

Expose them to tier six skirmishes and simple strategy.  And it can be quite rewarding to know you

just took a seal-clubbing top 10 clan to the limit ...even if you still lost.  To me, this game had a bunch

that all 'grew-up' together, and were giving helping hands.  Now it's expected of players to just know.

Not only preach game-play, but how to be a good sport and be professional.

When I get sick and tired of this game I run one of my favorite tanks for a long while.  My SU122-44 is getting a lot of love from me lately.  Yeah, its seal clubbing, but at least I have a ton of fun, win more than I lose, and get called cheater or wallet warrior at least once every 10 games.  This is my "take a break" instead of leaving the game lol.

This is what I do right now to avoid losing much silver credits.

  • Play premium tank(s) on weekends; usually T34 and STA-2.
  • Play (with personal reserves) a premium tank (T34) and a non-premium tank (Conqueror) on weekdays.

 

If I feel that day of the weekend is really bad, then I log off and do something else. Like do a marathon on a TV series that I have not watched or movies.

Yes, take a break. I had to after Ranked Battles...well, that and the nerf of some of the fun tanks to play - FV304, the ELC, etc.

Spend that time surfing the forums, laughing at all the complaints about MM, arty, RNG, nerfed/buffed/OP tanks, etc.

You know what would make this game more fun? (Besides un-nerfing all the light tanks, restoring the ELC back to what it was and giving the VK28.01 back it's derp?)

More maps in rotation! Bring back a bunch of old maps that were taken away!(Dragon Ridge, Port, Pearl River, Northwest, etc......... and yes, some reworking may be needed)

I will admit, I enjoyed playing light tanks until they took just about every open map with scout positions out of the game. I actually got 6K asst dmg on Karella two days ago without ever being spotted. I'm sure that will lead to a map reworking.

 

Moon111, I agree about the state of the game. Seems that years ago it was mostly tank enthusiasts or military folks playing. Now the player base is much younger (based on the sheer number of "bro" and "your momma" comments). So yea, instead of helpful teammates you get "it's my tank, I'll play however I want" which usually leads to a top tier heavy sitting behind your arty.

I'm with ya Fig. I usually can only play for an hour at a time. Sometimes 2 cause it just gets so stupid and frustrating that I don't want to bother. I then don't play for a couple of days and then put in another hour or two. 

 

You would thing WG would want players to play more, but with the crap they are pulling more and more of, this game is getting less and less enjoyable.

Hi OP -

 

1/2 the time I enjoy the game.

The other 1/2 of the time I love my clanmates and platooning, which lets me enjoy the game.

If it wasn't for them I'd be playing something dumb with monkeys and balloons.

Same here. About 2 years go when they threw any thought of tank balance out the window for the "OP tank of the month" gimmick, they pretty much ruined the game.

They could very easily fix what is broken by going to a -1/+1 MM

 

The arguments WG puts out against this are mostly a way to rationalize why they are refusing to do it. There are no rationally valid arguments against it.

 

"Que times would be too long"

 

Nonsense. Play a PZB2 which only sees tier 4. I never had to wait more then 45 seconds to get in a game Tanks with +1/-1 teir match making do not wait minutes to get into game now. Now that they have centralized the servers that is an even more absurd argument.

 

"WG would have to re-balance everything."

 

Nonsense again. Why would you need to re-balance tanks to fight +1 teir matches when they are all ready having to fight +2 teir tanks now?

 

I think WG  will end up having to go to a 2 teir spread. There just seems to be way to much angst about the 3/5/7 solutions. They would not of tried 3/5/7 if they did not think they had a problem with their current MM

 

If they went 1-2 2-3 3-4 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8 8-9 9-10, 10-10, none of the tanks in those tiers spreads would be screwed and all of them would see much better battles.

 

In the current 4 v 6, 5 v 7, 6 v 8 7 v 9 and 8 v 10 teir spread there are some very serious balance problem that effect almost every bottom teir tank.

I don't believe the OP is looking for an easy button.

I doubt strongly that a +/-1 MM would make things more interesting and fun for a player of their caliber. Neither would it improve the game IMO.

Plenty of PMM tanks for those who want +/-1 MM, that or play T-III.

I hear T-X gets only +0/-2 MM! :great:

 

To your point on the 2 tier spread and top tier being too tough to fight, in 3/5/7 there's only 3 top tier tanks out of 15!

That's 20% of OPFOR, why all the crying? Quit the fixation on your tier placement. If you're bottom tier there are 7 tanks over there at your tier and 5 that are only the +/-1 so desired.

There should be no reason for bottom tier tanks to be trying solo to take tanks on that are +2.


 

In short there is no problem with +/-2 MM. With scouts now not being potentially 3 tiers down things are much better for toons and balance IMO.
