My first Tier 10 tank was the IS-4. My second tier tank was the Obj 140.

I absolutely hated the 140 when I bought it years ago, I could keep an above 50% WR in my  IS-4, but I could barely keep the 140 above 40% (ironically). It just seemed like a terrible tank. My other tanks in the soviet med line were mostly low to mid 50%, with the T-43 being an outstanding outlier.

I eventually reground the T-54 to unlock the T-62a and absolutely loved it compared to the Obj 140 and I play pretty well in the T-62.

So I'm wondering with the recent buffs, and since I have 15million credits sitting idle, is it worth it to buy back the object 140 and try it again?

Supposedly it is all around superior to the T-62a, but I thrived in the t-62a while sucking hard in the obj 140.

Is there actually a playstyle difference between the two that has me stumped on the difference?

I'd like to hear your guys thoughts.

Wouldn't tell you not to but I sucked in that tank before and after the patch. Typical medium tank at tier X I run 53% that one I run 48% before and after not sure why just do.

The extra 1 degree of gun depression and the lack of the turret roof weakspot on the 140 pretty much makes the 62A redundant.

the 140 still has the copula weakspots tho, the 62A only has the one.  I think WG may tweak the 62A to be more of a sniper, as the 140 is the brawler of the two.... who knows what they will do with the 430.

Dude, the 140 is, always has been, and always will be superior in every way to the 62A. Better hull armour, faster, more depression, turret armour that even pre buff was barely any worse than the 62As, and the same everything else.

The 62A is a direct downgrade to the 140

except it seems to take a lot more module damage than the 62A? I don't have any hard data on this, but I think the 140's ammorack is made out of origami :hiding:

That explains the Wood Pulp Smell when I drove it on the Test Server...       Thought it was just an Air Freshener....

But I did like it better than the 62A, was much easier to Drive overall...      Because of that it will be my First Tier 10 Soviet Medium....

do you have a crew ready to go into it?

I personally won't run a tier 9 or 10 medium without at least a 3 perk crew in it, and prefer to be deep into the 4th set.

The 62a has those items located in basically the same place, and they have the same module HP too IIRC...

First two:  Honestly it feels vastly inferior in mobility to the T-62A. It turns slower, it doesn't seem to accelerate any more quickly, and the top speed difference does not seem that noticeable to me.

@ThePigSheFlies   I have a three skill crew in the Rudy I planned on converting to a crew for it.

I ended up buying it back, and the first few matches weren't promising. Again, it still feels insanely less mobile than the T-62A to me.

Its not, its exactly the same. And the 62a is much slower. Play it exactly how you would play the 62A, it'll do just as well. And then you'll find areas where you can use the extra gun depression and it'll just feel more comfortable.

Heck, I have the 140, 62a, and 907, and while everyone says the 907 is the best by far I still prefer the 140.

In the in game comparison, the 140 has 10 less degrees of hull and turret rotation compared to the T62A.  And as I remember, the T62A also had better terrain passability, so how can you say the 140 has the same or better mobility?

I'll try some more matches in it, but I can tell it just is slower to maneuver.

The T-62A is more accurate, aims faster, rotates the turret faster, rotates the hull faster, turret is a lot stronger, and snaps shots during turret rotation better.

140 is slightly quicker in a straight line, has one more degree of gun depression, has a higher top speed, fires more accurately on the move, and during tank traverse.

It honestly comes down to personal preference between the two. I have found a pretty even split between people that swear by the 140 and those that swear by the 62A
