OP - You are not playing anywhere NEAR the potential that vehicle has. With the top gun, even in tier 10 it is a TD to be avoided.

You did barely less than four shots worth. And not to tier eights, I would think.

Your credits are linked to your damage. Not a great game, not great credits.

Nope, wrong calculation.

The T28 Prot, regular ammo, which is what I mostly used, cost 1,060 per shot. The HE-HE ammo costs 900 per shot. I made 10 shots, 9x 1,060 / 1x 900 = 10,440. That is about 10 shots.

If you had penetrated every shot you would have had 4,000~ damage, and around 30,000-50,000 credits.

Wasting shells with big guns will burn credits at an incredible rate, especially with expensive shots like that.

Oh, come on, be realistic, especially with this game and the RNG. One game all my shots bounced, even side shots that were suppose to penetrate. Another game, all my shots missed, even with a complete narrow aim reticle. Another game, (none in any order, these were over the past few years), my T7 tank (T29) shot bounced on a T4 tank, side armor, point blank, 30 ft away, and it had only 12 HP left. Another game I penned and killed a tank on a very long distance shot where only the cap of his tank was showing - that one surprised me.

This game does not give a player pen shots all the time. Else he is using a mod, sometimes, the game gives a great pen.

Plus you fricken assume too much with that comment as to what I did and did not do.

10 shots, all penned to some degree, some low some high HP points.

Make the game subscription only and then I'll be happy. You?

I'm willing to bet that over half the playerbase would quit WoT if it turned p2p.

Nice rant.

Now, let me give you some info from my Business 101 class I took, many, many, moons ago:

People start businesses to make money to support themselves. If they don't make enough, the business folds, and they have to go back to work for the Man.

I was in the computer industry, as were a lot of my friends. Being independent programmers, which is what the fine folks at Wargaming are, is TOUGH! You appear to have this image of them working a few hours a week, when they're not too busy entertaining bikini-clothed babes on their luxury mega-yachts.

If they're anything like the friends I had that tried to make a go in the gaming industry, their life looks more like this: Go to work Early. Work like the devil, pausing briefly for launch. Work really hard some more. Order a pizza, because you're too busy to cook dinner, and keep cranking until, oh, midnight. Sleep. Wash, rise, repeat... again. And again. And again. Then listen to people whine and bellyache about something you poured your heart and soul into.

Most people like this put in 60 to 80 hrs a week, but take home less than they could if they just hired out to some corporation. It's a small business, so they likely don't have a lot of "big company" benefits. But they love what they do, so they keep on doing it. They use the Freemium business model to get people interested. Don't want to pay to play competitively at high tier? Easy fix - don't. I don't play higher than VI, though some day I might. I buy stuff when I can, without begrudging it, as I know it's supporting the game. It costs money to not only develop the game, but servers cost money. High-speed connections are NOT cheap for those servers to work efficiently. Heating, lighting, computers, office equipment, marketing, insurance... it all costs money. Running a small business is not easy, and not for the faint-hearted.

I'm sorry if you feel like you're "being taken advantage of" by being allowed to play for FREE, but seriously, Get over it.

Exactly, I was writing in another of this "fix your economy" post that there are lots of ways of making credits now (or saving them).

You mean like the FREE Premium tanks that WG just gave away? Yup, good money makers those. Need some credits? Take one of those for a few games!

In your Business 101 class, didn't they teach you to pay attention to post dates?

You necro'd a 3-yr old thread!  I seriously doubt the folks you are responding to are ever going to see this.

So don't play tier 8 and above. I find mid tier games to be a lot of fun.

Tier 6 and 7 used to be a sweet spot but now they are a magnet for 3 tiered battles so they aren't much fun anymore.

Kozzack,

Did your team win when you lost credits?  I had observed the same negative results but playing tier X, two kills and the team lost.  I don't play IX and X much at all since I am geared to the US team philosophy (play as a team and not a lone wolf).

With you on this.  Subscriptions died in the early 2000s.  I spend money on games like I do at restaurants, if I am having a good time  I spend more.  If I am more frustrated than entertained I play less and certainly don't spend money.
