"I should've done this LONG ago!" - The Heavy on when I should've posted this thread up.

Team Fortress 2 voice mod for World of Tanks composed by Noodle. Originally was posted August 1, 2011. Taken down because it lacked a copyright statement. Yes, I know Horrorsh0w has one up, too, and it's a very nice mod too. Main difference between mine is that I've scrunched five people into a tank, given them different roles, and they're all yelling at each other, you, and every tanker out there they run into.

NOTE: all content in this voice mod is copyrighted by Valve Entertainment. By downloading and using this mod you take FULL responsibility and hereby acquit Wargaming.Net of any responsibility. You also declare that you use this mod solely for a fair use non-profit purpose.

Current version is 1.2 (will update with other characters later on on further requests)

Video:

General things to consider when using this mod:

- Team Fortress 2 characters have never seen, operated, touched, or even heard of a tank before. Therefore, some of them will call it a cart.
- This isn't so much an announcer telling you things; it's more like the tank crew telling you things.
- They operate on a squad basis, whether they like it or not. They tend to bicker a lot.
- When a team member is knocked out, you will hear him in severe pain. You'd still hear his voice, though; they just have enough energy left to talk.
- Tank module damage, save for anything involving your tracks, will usually result in a beeping noise commonly heard whenever you play as Engineer (i.e. the beeping noise the Engie's HUD makes when something is damaged).
- Some events have no voices, such as target lost and ally killed.
- Don't use this when you want to play in a more serious manner like in Clan Wars...unless you know what you're doing. This mod is meant for the usual casual player that plays WoT for fun, like me.

Sickley's version of this mod (includes the Announcer and more organization)

CHANGELOG:
v1.2
- Community requested version via poll (which is now closed, but will open up again if I can find a way to reset the polls). Scout is driver, Soldier is commander, Engineer is loader, Heavy is radio operator, Sniper is gunner.
- Crit breakdown: if you hit a crit, 50% chance you will hear the crit ping (which is the TF2 version of the crit ping), 30% chance of hearing "Cuh-rit!" "Crocket!" or "Kaboom!", 20% chance of hearing a special line, like "Oooh, got you right in the ovary..."
- Slightly more organized based on character. Most things gun related (turret traverse, gun, ammo rack maybe) are cues for the Sniper. Only exception is Scout and Engy, since the Engy fixes everything, and the Scout doesn't want to shut up.
- This mod is now JSGME compatible! Just drop it in you MODS folder and enable it on JSGME...or if you don't have JSGME, follow the usual instructions.

v1.1.5
- Community requested version.
- Alternate excuse: the Engineer found that it was better if people were using his machines. So the Sniper and Demoman were happy to help out.
- The Demoman is drunk. No big surprise, really; he's always drunk. You'll hear his gibberish once in a while now.
- I know you can distinguish friend from foe, but they can't. As a result, when you kill an ally, usually it'll be the same voices (or slightly different) from when you kill a normal enemy.
- Ping and HUD noises removed.
- Added some additional voices from "Meet the Sandvich" (special thanks to linoleumz and the_moidart for pointing out how to download it for me) They seem to work so far.

v1.1:
- All American update! This update is geared towards American tanks (it was done in a bit of a hurry, though).
- Engineer added as a radioman. He doesn't come alone; his sentry replaces both the Sniper and Demoman, too. It has been modified to load, aim, and fire your gun.
- Crit ping has been added. it's an individual TF2 ping sound instead of the original ping.
- Tank crew members don't die. They just get hurt to the point where they can't work. So rather than hearing them die, you'll hear then getting hit. It's going to sound like it'll hurt.

v1.0:
Added a readme document in the zip folder. Replaced Medic and Spy with Sniper and Scout. Sniper is now Gunner. Heavy is now Radioman since they tend to soak up shots. Scout is now Driver. Added additional wav files. Added the HUD Warning beep when one of your modules gets hit (i.e. engine damage, fuel tank hit, etc.). Critical hit sounds will play.

v0.5 (beta):
First and (unofficial)release. Was live for a day, then taken down. Had the Medic as Driver, Spy as Radioman, Heavy as Gunner, Demoman as Loader, and Soldier as Commander.

Installation instructions:

Extract both the files to your WoT/res/audio directory (e.g, for me it is "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_closed_Beta\res\audio"), and overwrite the existing files. I recommend you backup the files, but I didn't; I never liked the original voices.

Future patches:
- Choice of Engineer, Medic, or Spy to replace tank roles (only if you vote!)
- More TF2 sound effects
- Better voices that fit (and more funny lines as well!)
- Singular voice acting dependent on role of tank (e.g. Scout only voiceover for light tanks, Heavy voiceover for heavy tanks)(actually if Horrorsh0w is going to do this instead, I might as well forget about doing it; no point in making the same exact thing)
- A video demonstration of the mod (and you get to heckle at my crappy gameplay...well I'm actually decent, nothing special)
- I also plan on modifying the ingame music...not with TF2 music, but with other pieces of music. That will be a separate project.

Special thanks:
- Mastertaco, for he is credit to team!
- Bodhi Wan Kenobi for sparking my ideas up.

(I do want to point out that Horrorsh0w has a TF2 mod here. I acknowledge and respect his work and effort; this TF2 mod is just a different variation compared to his. Personally, Horrorsh0w's TF2 mod is more informative to you than mine is; mine is just, as I mentioned already, five TF2 characters that are forced to be stuck together in a tank).

The spy.

How could you have left him out?!?11111

He needs to be the person that tells you all the stuff happening in the back ground, E.G

"Our track is hit, It could break any minute".

Maybe.

Good stuff.   :Smile_great:

Hope you don't mind I stole your disclaimer.  I saw it in the CoH voice pack thread and assumed it was edited in by one of the big wigs, didn't know it was my job to put it in and I could get my thread deleted for it.  Yikes!

It's perfectly fine for you to jack my disclaimer; it's more or less necessary if you have a mod that's from other games, or a mod that has copyrighted stuff on it.

Also, I'd just do it anyways since I don't want to see any of us getting arrested, sued, tortured, etc. for the complex copyright laws.

WTB Engineer.

However, I have no idea what role in the tank he would play.

How about the Engineer announcing broken/fixed modules?

Like

*track fixed* "Git goin'!"

*engine broken* "Damn it, fellas!"

You could also fit 'thanks Engineer' lines like "Heavy: Engineer is credit to team!"

Maybe you could include a Pyro laugh/voice line for when you light an enemy on fire?

"How am I going to stop some big mean mother hubbard from tearing me a structurally superfluous new behind? The answer: use a gun. And if that don't work... use more gun."

- The Engineer on how to deal with that Maus or IS-7 around the corner.

"Sometimes, you just need a little less gun."

- The Engineer after lighting a German tank on fire.

Anyways, version 1.1 is out, and will be shortly followed by 1.2, which will be a revamp of 1.0 (unless you vote on the poll up top there).

Still to come:
- I'm trying to find a way to include the additional voices from Meet the Sandwich. Some of these could fit in just right.

Can you do an update to keep the Engineer, but also put the Sniper and Demo back? They are the runner-ups for my favorite TF2 character.

It's a five man team. Someone would have to be replaced. Are you saying the team you want is Scout, Soldier, Engineer, Sniper, and Demoman?

And for single voices only, that's Horrorsh0w's business.

Correct. I would appreciate this very much.

Also, for a few people that use this mod, I also want to find a way to include the following voices into this pack. They aren't found anywhere in the TF2 files, and I have no experience in modifying WAV files, which is utterly humiliating on my part.

Here are the voices I plan on trying to add somehow. These aren't download links. It's only the Scout and Soldier, though.

Scout:
"H-He's like a bear! He's like a big shaved bear that hates people!"
"Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain! Pain!" (I really want to use this one)
"I regret everything! I regret everything I've ever done!"
"He's already dead! He's already deaaad!"

Soldier:
"Hambone, we have got you by the short and friskies!"
"Do not do it! Do not even think about doing it! Do not even think about not doing it!"
"Son, you are writing checks your butt will find uncashable! Are you hearing me? Your backside will be escorted from the bank! You will find this humiliating!"
"Don't throw your life away, son. You only get one! Or, depending on your religious affiliation, several! Either way it is a finite number so think it through!"
"Son, I need a blood transfusion double-time! I am going to require roughly half of your blood!"

Anyone that can help me out with at least finding download links for these wav files would be appreciated.

But those are download links. I click on one, I get a download option.

And otherwise for copying audio off the net, use Audacity (or a similar program), or use the DownloadHelper plugin for Firefox, depending on the media.

"I hate you campers; everybody bloody hates you!"

- The Demoman's view on camping playstyles

"I've slept in the corpse of a water buffalo tougher than you."

- The Sniper squaring up against a tank

1.1.5 has been released! Download it here. 1.2 will feature the top five classes that you guys voted for whenever I get around to making it...so start voting.

CHANGELOG (ver. 1.1.5)

There is a three way tie between Engie, Demoman, and Pyro. I'm pretty surprised people want Pyro. And poor Medic. I thought German tankers would've wanted him.

Added another poll question. Who (dis)likes the critical hit ping, or wants me to change it?
