There are some new French vehicles on the Super test. Three heavy, armored tanks without autoloaders. The details are below.

The new line will be an alternative branch of French HT. The main feature – front armor of the hull and turret.  In addition, each tank will have two guns to choose from: either with lower alpha-damage and better penetration, or with better alpha-damage and lower penetration. Each of the guns stands out by aiming parameters: accuracy, aiming and stabilizations help when dealing damage.
Now let’s go through each tank separately:

  • Tier VIII: AMX 65 t. Armored, with excellent elevation angles parameters (-8 degrees). Players have an option to choose from two guns of calibers 100 or 120 mm. Depending upon the choice of the gun, the tactics of using the tank changes as well. 100 mm gun is intended for more active gameplay, playing with damage per minute and better parameters of penetration as the key features. 120 mm will be more suitable for the amateurs of positional gameplay with the realization of high alpha-damage.

  • Tier IX: AMX M4 mle. 51. Here there is a choice between 120- and 127-mm guns. If to compare with the Tier VIII the alpha-damage of both guns has increased, but the game concept remain to be the same – there is a choice between high alpha-damage or a bit better parameters of firing.

  • Tier X: AMX M4 mle. 54. More armor and higher calibers – 120 mm and 130 mm. 120 mm gun has excellent armor penetration (the value is 264) and terrific aiming parameters, which allows to effectively deal damage to the opponent at long distances. 130 mm has worse accuracy, but at the same time has alpha-damage (the value is 560), which will allow to effectively skirmish with the opponent.

Please, note that this is the first test of the new branch of French HT, and none of the stats are finalized - changes can and probably will occur.

Let us know what you think!

YES! No autoloaders. Getting clipped by the current autoloaders is bad enough.

The armour though. It does not seem to be French enough.

There's no reason at all to use the 127mm or 130mm gun when you give them such horrible premium pen in this superheavy meta. That's also why you never see anyone use the 140mm on the Type 5, because it can't even pen itself reliably with premium.

Whoa, look at those big [edited][edited]cupolas on top. These will really be a joy to play when you get insta-penned as you try to crest a hill.

So we get some fairly heavily armored tanks with surprising speed, but their pen values are horrible on both guns.  These just look like up armored mediums or less capable American heavies.

Edit: I stand corrected, the pen is slightly below average pen for most tanks of the same tier.

It is about time WG address the ONE thing ruining balance and that is premium ammo. Do that and we can have some sensible, even historical, armour thickness.

I'll be playing the heck out of these, however as others have mentioned the pen on the bigger gun options for the tier 9 and 10 tanks should be revisited. Those pen values might be just fine on a very fast heavy or a medium, but not on these tanks.

The two options on the tier 8 seem balanced though.

Also don't make the cupolas TOO weak.

so the FV215 heavy got replaced by the the super conquer but the owners got to keep the FV215, now the FV215(183) is getting replaced by the Badger but FV215(183) owners get to keep the tank. so why dont WTE-100 owners get to keep thier tanks? The grill 15 was a crappy trade, Id rather keep the WTE-100, I sold the the crappy grill 15 after the 2nd nerf since it wasnt a fair trade by any means nor was it fun to play unless you want to sit/hide and wait for some idiot to enter your ring of doom.

So.. my question is:

Is the new t8 french heavy unlocked if the preceding vehicle is elite? Or do we have to grind the xp for it?
