i wanted to gain some of the goodies for the "on track to E100" event

i would like to stay at lower tiers 4-6, cause i dont know any of the weakpoints on many of the  higher tier tanks....also...at higher tier if you are just average like me.....you wont do very well

i would like to work up to tier 7 at about 5000 games...which is a long way off ....

so Aging Jedi says the DW2 is horsedung and possibly the worse tank in the game

im looking for any other feedback on the dw2....cause i play all my tanks at least 200 games and i dont want to spend 200 games in a stinker

if it sucks let me know why

thanks

Well, that assessment might be so.  The DW2 is a pretty overall suck tank.  That doesn't mean it cannot shine.  You have to play it like a tall, fat, slow, highly armored, weak gun medium tank instead of the first German Line Heavy.  If you do that, you can do okay.  There are LTs and TDs of lower tiers that can rip the DW2 apart, so you can't treat it like a Heavy.

I liked mine, actually.  I just recently sold it for a VK 30.01 which I have used maybe one or two times now.  I had a 52% WR in my DW2.

[Edit:  Nice video 4T&D!  No camo and still rocking it!  Well done sir! ]

Here's the thing:  No matter what tank you play, try to learn something from it about playing in general.  You can't take on some tanks head to head, so pay attention to the minimap, be aware of what's going on around you and use your tank the best you can.  Don't play to anyone else's expectations, it will cause you to suffer and feel miserable.  If you feel you can play a certain unit a certain way and it doesn't "mesh" with expectations, don't sweat it.

364 matches to get my first Heavy Crew trained up enough to go further.  Thanks DW2!  You were good to me and I hated you at first for it.  I'm sorry.

It's not so bad, once you get to know it.

Its slow.... the gun is okay, and the hp pool is huge. You can 1v1 a matilda and win if you load gold. Only thing is ur armor is trash.

Epic game! I thought you were going to get the KV-1. The DW2 was the first tank I aced. I actually liked it. The premium MM it gets helps a little also.

The DW2 is not as bad as everyone says. If you play the tank right, you can do well in it.

I re-bought it for the on-track thinking I'd use it along with the rest to get the free equipment and silver. I do pretty well in every other tank in the line. After a day and a half with NO wins and no good performances in it, I sold it. At least the crew can get used when I unlock the Pz7. Everything I did in it felt like a struggle. It's useable, but feels like a tank with horribad soft stats for everything. No fun to be had. Very glad I'm not forced to play thru it, and wishing good luck to anyone who has to. At least it doesn't have to fight tier 6's. Maybe i'm expecting too much out of a tier 4, but I've 2-marked the next tank in the line, the 3001, and consider it a keeper. the only obvious differences in the two tanks are gun selection and viewrange, so i wasn't expectiing to hate the DoucheVagon.

Angle the armor, rock it to move your weak spots a bit and use beaucoup premium rounds. It does get pref MM, so it won't see tier 6 tanks.

If you do that in a support role position... you should do OK with it.  Remember, push "2" for skillz.

D.W. 2 Is one of those tanks that, is greatly under estimated in pubs, this tank requires the player to have some pretty grounded knowledge of the game mechanics to do well in. I have a love/hate relationship with this tank, its actually a really good tank to make b2 players crap themselves because its mediocre pen is still serviceable, and start using gold rounds ( I do ) to get at those matildas, you "can" kill them, but most of the time you need to get the jump on them.

TLDR Tank only sucks as much as the player playing it.

DW2, being a tier 4 heavy, only gets =/-1 MM. The biggest problem with it in the past was seeing tier 6.  It doesn't have that problem any longer.

I LOVE German tanks. Especially the Tiger, Tiger 2, and E75. I also love the DW2. Apart from the gun handling, the chassis behaves in very much the same way as higher tier German tanks. At tier 4, you get a lot of complaints because players at that skill level generally don't understand the game mechanics as well, but if you play the DW2 after playing higher tier Germans you'll find that you can make it work beautifully. You can turn the paper-thin boxy armor into an impenetrable fortress simply by angling and sidescraping as you would on tanks down the tree. I find it to be quite enjoyable, actually.

Below is a link to a replay from last December.  Reading this thread has helped me to decide on repurchasing this Gem HT!  As I remember, this was only the second tier IV HT in WoT, the French B1 being the first.  Well, there is that pesky German/French Pz.Kpfw. B2 740(f) too...

Far from the worst tank in the game

It's labeled as a heavy.

It's as slow as one, in fact there are many heavies faster.

And they forgot to put armor on it like you'd expect a heavy to have.

They put in a couple of marginal guns to choose from that suit the lump.

The DeucheWagon is a pretty bad tank - but the next one in the line is good to go...

The Deuchewagon is lightly armored, has a weak gun, goes slow in a straight line - and, goes slower on the turn.  You can angle the pig to some benefit.  The only nice thing is that the gun handling is good.  It fires fast and aims well.

To prove the point, has anyone seen any platoons of seal clubbing DW2s :D

Play the Tier V VK.  It is a blast.  That gun makes you into a force on the battlefield.

It is however and excellent lesson example.

It's one of the first heavies a newbie comes to in the Tech Trees.   It's at a place newbies are discovering that there's a hell of a lot about this game and most are just discovering very few of the mechanics are simple to understand.    It's a perfect lesson in how WG treats newbies.

Yuk, yuk, just watch the video...

4Tankers posted someones Ace Video.  This guy played the Derp gun and took out the weak and wounded while peddling the Valley of Death.  He took four shots at an arty and didn't kill it off:-}.  Too funny.  Lots of 'We didn't even scratch them'.

Two of my few aces is in the DeucheWagon.  I got my first in the DeucheWagon using the same 'strat' as the attached video.  This was before I knew that the valley was called The Valley of Death.  Basically, the other team sent a bunch of stupids in little Lights up the valley.  I just waddled the pig into their midst and blew them apart.  I thought I turned the corner and was on my way to Orange Game Play!!!  Not so much.  But, watch out folks, after over a month of chaos I finally got my Tomato Paste Rig on line.  Now I have to get it off cardboard boxes.

Had some good games in this tank.  Reason is that you are often ignored and not taken seriously. You do have to angle your armor to get maximum effect.

If you want to get serious load up on some goldie rounds and let the LoL's begin.

DW2 works if you play it right.  Don't use the derp gun, its beyond bad.
