I can afford a new tier 10. Of the several I have researched but not bought, these three are the ones I am considering.

TVP 50/51: obviously great autoloader and I see it in clanwars. It also looks like a direct upgrade to the Skoda T50 which i am enjoying a bit

M48 Patton: All the streamers say it is the best tier10 medium, and I have loved all the American meds so far

AMX30B: I enjoy this tank a lot, especially the gun. This would be my top choice, except that I am very sub-par at the AMX 30.prot1.

Thoughts or suggestions?

It's pretty simple really, if you want a clan wars viable tank, get the TVP. If you just want a tank and don't want the TVP then I would go with the M48 over the AMX because of 2 reasons; 1: you said that you enjoyed all American meds so far and that it's highly suggested by multiple popular streamers. 2: You said you didn't perform very well with the AMX 30, which in some opinions that I've heard, is a better tank than the 30B tier for tier.

In the end I would go with

  1. TVP 50/51

If you want a single shot tank

  1. M48 Patton
  2. AMX 30B

TVP 5O/51 doesn't see as much use as you would expect. lt is situational, because the meta driven obj 9O7s and 113s, are resistant to the lower 31Omm HEAT, as opposed to other meds having 33O. Still an awesome tank to have, and very powerful in public matches or less organized advances.

M46 is a tier 9. You probably have it already.

M48A has seen recent buffs, but still holds fundamental flaw in the large size and poor camo. The hatch is now smaller, but lost some armour, dropping to as low as 51mm, able to be penetrated by HE even. Still not as good as a China / RU turret l'd say, although the better gun depression allows the Patton to fire back, and not just spot.

AMX3OB pretty much outright replaces STB1. lt combines that high STB1 DPM, with a far more controllable gun, more mobility, and the turrets have got more similar and resistant, due to AMX3O armour buffs. However, STB1 still has better gun depression, sides of the turret hold better armour, whereas AMX can be pen by HE, and AMX3O lower sides drop to 3Omm, which are overmatch by most med 1O.5cm guns. While STB1 won't and can side scrape at least.

STB1 still has better pen (important 33O HEAT)

I just passed 100 battles in my M48. It's my favorite tank in the game right now.

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.

As others have said if you want a CW "viable" tank get the TVP, otherwise likely the Patton/30B in that order. Patton is a good pub tank and you like the Murica tanks so.

The Patton will be On-Track in November, so at least wait until then for a huge 30% discount if that's the one you decide to go with.

Comparatively, the 50/51 isn't likely to be On-Track for about a year, and the AMX 30 B isn't likely to be On-Track for ~18 months.

I have a Reddit series where I analyze 4+ years of On-Track historical data, and with some spreadsheet formulas, VBA, my own thoughts, logic, tea leaves etc, accurately predict the next On-Tracks.  I generally get it right, or pretty close to right.  That said, the Patton is a bit of a cheat because it's On-Track every November.  Incidentally, the other November On-Track will be the T-62A.  I know this because for the first time ever, WG did a reddit poll asking which tank everyone would like to see On-Track (but I actually predicted the T-62A before the poll!).  The other option in the Poll was the Sheridan which will now be On-Track in December.  I think they're trying to make my predictions redundant!

Anyway, the latest post in my series is here:  https://www.reddit.c...ecember_beyond/

EDIT:  updated above link to be my latest prediction post from today.
