Just a quick preview for those who don't have a good PC, don't want to download 10-15GB of the client, or simply don't have the time...

12 New maps have been prepped for the SandBox server.

This includes:

- HD rework

- New lighting, textures, effects, etc.

- New 'shockwave' feature from main gun firing

There are obviously some glitches; namely that anyone playing the WZ-111 5A will crash your game on the loading screen as well as smaller effect errors like non-waving flag...

And I found theSTRV 103-B won't traverse as you move the aiming reticle in sniper mode.  You have to try and traverse with A and D manually....

Looks great. Until they rush the release and 15-20 tanks are broken due to improper coding and WG keeps saying "we're aware we're working... soon..." blah blah yadda yadda, then the whole thing has to be rolled back because they're too busy dumping resources into making a new T8 premium soviet "balanced" heavy than to actually fix things..

^^^This...And another comment above about "potato-toaster PCs"...

Why WG spends literally 100s if not 1000s of man-hours to make tired existing old maps into HD which 70% of the people playing the game will turn down anyway to improve performance or to tone down sparkle, instead of making "new" maps...

Make actual NEW maps....not "polished" old ones, not fire-this, not winter-that...but actual brand spanking new maps...

It is pretty, but honestly, who cares, everyone will turn settings down...

At least tell us what the plans are for upcoming new maps, or that there are no plans for new maps...

Yes, new maps PLEASE.   After over 5 yrs of playing WoT, I've seen good/fun maps like Port, Dragon Ridge, Pearl River, etc taken out, while you give us maps like Paris, and keep Ensk and Ruinberg.   Is anybody at WG listening to us ??

Have run several if not all of the new maps. The effect of the additional space appearing on the horizon is pretty incredible, but until you get used to it you will be distracted. Nice job on the graphics on all of the maps, but tanks were all very buggie. Only tank I did not have a problem with was the arties. Shot straight and true.

Ran the American T110E3 and had the craziest little adventure with it. Put the aiming reticle dead on a target and shoot and the shot angles about 45 degrees down and right, at about a 30 degree pitch. Restarted sandbox and made no difference. Really looked bad as I was not the only one having issues. Nothing implied here but two other NA players were having problems with American tanks as well, and yet every Russian player and take was achieving great new heights of speed and accuracy, including shooting through hills. Hmmm.

Do like the graphics, and hope that mechanics are incorporated soon.

Funny thing. The computer I started WoT with was old and was lucky to make 35fps on minimum settings. One of the releases a while back made it even worse. I bought a new computer that cruises at 117fps at max settings. I found all the extra graphics stuff distracting and went back to near minimum graphic settings.
