Like every other player, I've been waiting two loooonnnngggg years for new maps in World of Tanks ... but all we got were tweaks or 'duplicate maps' like Fiery Salient or Wintersberg.

Now, the wait is almost over.

The WoT dev team has confirmed new maps are being developed as I write this, and will be introduced using the new HD Map Engine.

You can find the details on my WOT TALK site BY CLICKING HERE. This includes how the maps will affect players with older computers, which I know is a major concern, and a lot of other updated info.

I also included the video by DezGamez that previews the HD maps, in case you didn't see it in my earlier post. Definitely watch it; the new maps are really impressive.

Well, they're reworks of existing maps.  A few new areas of engagement and a lot of boost spots are gone.

That said, exploring the maps on sandbox was cool.  They did a splendid job on them and watching things crumble and the occasional kerbal-based physics glitch was entertaining.

There's be a little learning as we go with the new maps, as not all positions are the same.

New map criteria.

1.  Must have 3 corridors.

2.  All elevated areas must have boulders to simulate rock quarry and curtail boosting.

3.  Must have 3 corridors.

4,  Must contain at least 1 castle.

5.  Rinse and repeat.

We will see bigfoot before we see a few (more than 1) new maps in a year...

I'm hearing we could see the first completely new map in two or three months, in addition to the reworked HD maps.

Also believe it when I see it, but I do think you're going to see a bunch of new maps over the next year. Why?

No way those WG devs put in that HD map engine and won't be playing with it!

So far the maps are the same just reworked.  I will continue to play to see if any new maps pop up.  But the rework of the current maps are awesome.  I have not found any flaws as of yet.

Be happy, 3 corridors are better than 2.

With the addition of HD maps (which includes changing glaring weaknesses to these maps) along with the promise of two new maps with the next patch. Does any one else feel like they should rework old maps they removed due to imbalances at the time and try to get them balanaced, for the sake of more maps as a whole.
