New map "Minsk" is heading to the Supertest.

The tests of two gameplay prototypes of Minsk are in progress. Both of the prototypes feature the real landscape of Minsk: railway station plaza and the Trinity Hill district. These are mixed locations that have both an open game area and an urban quarter.

There will be also some famous objects that can be found in Minsk today as well: The City Gates, Theatre of Opera and Ballet, and more. The size of each prototype – 1000x1000 meters.

Variant A:

Variant B:

The goal of these tests is to choose the best variant and define the balance settings. As you might notice, the way it looks now is not final and will be reworked due to the test results, and then we’ll  start on the final visual and gameplay work on the map.

Which variant do you prefer?

I prefer Variant A, the elevation changes and a rather open city map could make for an interesting combination. But the hill after a river coming from spawn will be a pain for slow tanks. Not that the fight would be that far away, anyways.

Variant B looks like an Ensk revamp... I don't know anyone who would want that.

Variant A for sure.

Good to finally see a glimmer of hope that we are getting a new map.

I prefer the 2nd map as it looks like it would offer more opportunities for light tanks and tank destroyers to do well.

The first map looks too much like a lot of maps we already have in the game with city or buildings on one side and railroad tracks and/or a field on the other side.  Boring.

I actually like both variants.  A is fresh and a nice new idea, with the open city concept.  Probably what they were originally hoping for with Paris.

B does look a LOT like Ensk, though I think it's a far better iteration of that map.  I wouldn't mind seeing A open for all and B also for Tier 6-10, moving Ensk to the low tiers.  (Ensk really is a terrible map)

Instead of giving us a better version of a current map, why don't they fix that current map so they won't have to implement a better version?

Whatever version is made at 1500 X 1500 or more meters.

Hey, I like Ensk. But, where's the giant statue of Serb? Actually B is much larger than Ensk so even if the layout has resemblances, the gameplay would not. Kinda got some potential Prok action on that big open side. Needs a few more bushes and a bit more minor terrain variation though...perhaps...

Why not both? More maps means more variety means more entertainment. WG has removed enough good maps already.

x.

Hmm. Is there a chance to release more open maps? We have had a number of new city maps and quite a few people do not enjoy them.

Kharkov, Pilsen, Stalingrad, Paris etc.. PLEASE come up with more map ideas other than soviet heavy tenk corner camp corridor..

The idea is you're supposed to take your artillery and mediums and lights and TDs out to the field to play, and leave the poor lumbering heavies to their business in the city. The pitiful things would just be arty shell receptacles otherwise. Option B here has a lovely huge flat open flatness just for that purpose...except its a bit too flat.

Number one looks interesting.

But number two is a copy of the utter horse manure map called Ensk.

Two more urban corridor type maps...REALLY WARGAMING???

I think we have enough of those already in the game!

I'd like to see both varients to be honest, although Varient A does seem to be the more unique one.

A   The second one looks very familiar.....open fields West, city East. Ensk, Runeberg.

GO WITH A !

I prefer B, but as new maps are the #1 thing players want, release both. I dont care if they are both parts of Minsk. Call one Minsk and the other something else.
