Update: 31 October, Australian Date. See new information about another transfer window at this link

Tankers of Oceania,

It's time to take to the battlefield on the new low-latency ANZ server, which will be active daily starting Nov. 1, 18:00-00:00 AEDT. Before you can join, however, it’s important we transfer your account to the SEA server so you can play with your fellow Aussies and Kiwis!

So why should you transfer? Listen up!

• Reduced Latency: A better play experience for all of our Australia and New Zealand players during the hours of 6:00pm AEDT – 12:00am AEDT, every night
• Low-lag Tank Warfare: Locally based servers will make high pings a thing of the past
• Easier to Organize Clans: Team up with your friends to create local clans and compete against fellow Aussies and Kiwis
• Easier to Play with Mates: Finding friends is a breeze now thanks to the region-focused server
• Free Emblems and Missions: Once you transfer your account, you get a free special “Kangaroo” or “Kiwi” emblem, and can play exclusive missions
• Flexibility: Once you’re back on the Asia server, you have the option to play on the AUS server during the prime-time hours (mentioned above)
• Transfer is Free: Did we mention it costs nothing?

To transfer your account all you need to do is visit http://wrg.am/wot-apac-transfer , register your expression of interest by Oct. 22, 2017, and we do the rest! Please note this is a one-way transfer, so once you commit, it’s impossible to return to the NA server. Also note the NA account gets permanently banned, so clan leads should be transferred.

You do not need to fill out the survey if you have already requested to transfer via a customer support ticket, as per our previous transfer inquiries. If you opted in at that time, then we already have your information and no additional action is required.

You can expect a follow-up email from Wargaming on Oct. 24, so keep an eye open for it!

FAQ Below:

  1. What type of server is Wargaming hosting?

The ANZ server isn’t a standalone server, it’s a ‘periphery’ meaning your account remains tied to Asia, but allows you to play on the ANZ periphery.

An Asia account is required to play on the ANZ periphery. If you have an account on the US/EU/RU server and would like to migrate it across, please follow the instructions at number X below.

  1. When does the server go live?

The ANZ server for World of Tanks on PC will go live at 6pm AEDT on November 1st. It will be active from 6-pm AEDT – 12am AEDT daily, until daylight savings finishes on April 1, 2018. The operational hours will then change by an hour to reflect non-daylight savings time.

If you’re unsure about how the timezones relate to your own, you can easily check it here.

  1. How do I log into the ANZ server?

If you already have an account on the Asia server then it’s easy! When you’re in the World of Tanks login screen, all you need to do is click the server drop down menu and select the ANZ server and log in as normal.

Please note that if you attempt to log in outside of prime time, you will not be able to connect to the server. During non-prime time periods you should log into the Asia server to ensure you get the best experience.

  1. Is this server available to New Zealand players as well?

Yes, it most definitely is. If you live in New Zealand and have an account on the Asia server, then follow the instructions above to log in.

If you have an account on another server, please follow the instructions further down on how to migrate over to the ASIA server.

  1. What does ‘prime time’ server mean?

‘Prime time’ means that the server will only be active during our most trafficked times (6pm-12am AEST each day). Running the servers daily between 6pm-12am AEST ensures that we’re benefiting the most Australian and New Zealand players as possible.

  1. Why are the servers prime time?

The servers are prime time because we want to carefully manage how we deploy them to ensure matchmaking runs smoothly and that players of all levels aren’t left waiting in long server queues.

The prime time hours are calculated currently on our busiest hours to ensure it benefits the most players possible.

  1. What happens if I want to play outside of prime time hours?

If you want to play World of Tanks outside of prime time hours you simply select the Asia server, instead of the ANZ server, when you log in.

If you are playing on the ANZ server during prime time and continue to play until prime time hours are inactive (e.g. battle starts at 11:59pm),  the game will run until its finished (regardless of whether or not it goes past 12am) and then log you out once it has saved your stats from the battle.

  1. Will the servers eventually go 24/7?

That’s the goal! However before that happens we need to increase the player base to ensure the matchmaker works to a standard we’re happy with, as we don’t want long game queues. The key to the ANZ server working is providing a fast matchmaking experience.

  1. Where are the servers located?

The servers will be located in Sydney, Australia. We are confident that they will sufficiently service the entire continent as well as New Zealand players.

  1. How do I join the ANZ server from the US server?

From the 17th -23rd of October players will be able to register to transfer via this form here. After the 23rd, we’ll then have a second form live for players to activate the transfer once they confirm their email address. This will start an automated process and should transfer accounts over within a few hours.

Please note that if you’ve been playing on the NA server, you will have to redownload the Asia client to access the Asia/ANZ servers.

This will be a one-time offer so be sure to register to transfer!

  1. Will all of the tanks and mission status from my existing account come with me if I transfer over?

Yes, your entire account will be migrated over including tanks, crews, items in your depot, and all other details linked to your account. From an account perspective, you won’t even have noticed you’ve changed servers!

  1. How does the transfer process work?

Transferring accounts is based on the account information you provide us in this form (INSERT LINK). Once we reach the cut-off date we have an automated tool that recreates accounts on the Asia server based off of the US account, then perma-bans the old account from the server, effectively wiping it.

As mentioned above this is a one way transfer, so when you transfer over you will not be able to transfer back.

  1. If I transfer and don’t like the server, can I swap back?

Unfortunately not, this is a one way transfer and your account will not be able to log back into to the US server once you transfer.

  1. Who can I contact if I have any issues migrating over?

Contact support via https://Asia.wargaming.net/support

  1. What happens if I don’t transfer?

If you don’t transfer, nothing will change as you’ll continue to play on the Asia server. You will however miss out on getting access to lower ping and better quality matchmaking services.

  1. I’m a member of a clan on the Asia server, what will this mean for me?

As a clan member, player may need to decide whether to stay in a mixed-nationality clan or region-focused clan.

A mixed-nationality clan will have members active in different time zones throughout the day but could be scattered on different periphery.

On the other hand, a region-focused clan will have more members online on the same periphery but only within a few hours period of time.

  1. How will this impact the current WGL APAC season?

The ANZ server launch will have no impact on the WGL APAC Extended Season. Matches will be scheduled accordingly and players will simply log onto ASIA server to compete.

  1. What does this mean for Clan Wars?

Clan Wars, including Stronghold and the Global Map, will have its own designated prime time hours for the ANZ and Asia servers, based on the time zone UTC +8.

Stronghold will be available on the ANZ periphery during early primetime – 15:00 UTC+8 to 18:00 UTC+8 daily until daylight savings finishes. It will then switch to 16:00 UTC+8 to 18:00 UTC+8, and ASIA for later primetime – from 18:00 UTC+8 to 24:00 UTC+8.

Global Map will also have similar settings, available on the ANZ periphery during 16:00 UTC+8 to 19:00 UTC+8, and 20:00 UTC+8 to 24:00 UTC+8 on ASIA periphery.

  1. When will World of Tanks console and World of Warships get local servers?

We would love to launch local servers for all of our titles and it’s something that the ANZ Wargaming team are always investigating. At this stage we have nothing to announce.

With this new server it's really lowering the NAs population, I know a handful of Australians, and they are definitely a portion of the NA no doubt.

It affects everything from MM to every tanks expected damage,

My question is will the NA at some point merge or have an option to transfer to the EU?

Also PLEASE make a server for the South Americans if anything!

EH: Hello Cabbage, sorry that I'm having a little trouble with the post format. Just wanted to ask a few questions that I believe would be asked by a lot of players.

#1: If we've already filled out the request via customer support ticket and not need to do it again, would we still be able to acquire the emblem and exclusive missions?

#2: The previous transfer had information which said the two accounts would be merged so we'll be able to keep both our NA and SEA tanks. But this round's information states that it will recreate the account on the SEA server. Does this mean that if I transfer my NA account (2 tier X) to my current SEA account (5 tier X), it will recreate and overwrite my SEA account? It would be pretty bad if I lost everything I had on SEA for a NA account of lower value.

Would an SA server hurt the NA population any less than the ANZ server? It feels like it'd hit harder, if anything.

I do support an EU transfer, though. The only reason I play NA is because of friends and the amount of time and money I've put into my account.

So you complain that removing NZ/AUS players will lower population, while at the same time asking about EU transfers and SA servers...
Am I missing something?

scyorkie, so the Aussies leaving will hurt the population obviously but transferring to the EU is a little hope and is a burning question for those who want to move and the SA server, think we both want the SAs moved

Im not complaining :D

chain reaction am i wrong? NZ/AUS server and maybe the creation of a SA server. Will Wargaming kick the bucket and collide with the EU someway?

Is this for only a short time or will be it an option on down the road for those who didn't transfer right away or those waiting to transfer later should they physically move from the states to Australia or New Zealand?

When will you finally allow EU players to leave to the EU server? It's been over 2 months since you announced that you would facilitate the transfers. Will this be another 60+ page threat with no reply from WG staff?

If I remember correctly, WG EU is not playing ball and that is holding up the transfers. I could be mistaken though.

So if the The ANZ server is a ‘periphery’ meaning your account remains tied to Asia, why can't my account remain in NA?

Yes I know server versions don't match, so why not make the server version deployment the same and then allow this periphery?

So the new transfer will overwrite the ASIA account and not merge with it as previously posted?

How do I cancel my original request as I was only doing the merge to get the xp, gold and credits on this account.

I do no want it to replace my ASIA account.

If I didn't have an APAC account at the time I requested a transfer by support ticket but now have one as I created one in the interim to check the ping, should I complete the survey form as well to ensure the 2 accounts are merged?

As someone that transfered to SEA from NA a million years ago, its probably a bad idea to go for this transfer at this point too an Aus/NZ server shard is just poor bait. This was originally promised 4 years ago, and right now has no promise to be permanent state of affairs.

Considering the state of the current Aus/NZ community in WoT on SEA/Asia, this shard will probably be quite shortlived, and then its back to the Singapore based server for 120-150ping(good) when the myriad of cables linking Australia to Asia aren't shredded, just look at our clanwars map if you want to see the state of it.

"Transfer is Free: Did we mention it costs nothing?"

your WoWP account will probably die, theres no Asia server for WoWP

  1. Will all of the tanks and mission status from my existing account come with me if I transfer over?

Yes, your entire account will be migrated over including tanks, crews, items in your depot, and all other details linked to your account. From an account perspective, you won’t even have noticed you’ve changed servers!

I can't believe I'm asking this, but what about my World of Warplanes account? Will it get permabanned along with my WoT account or will I be able to keep playing with it?

  1. How does the transfer process work?

Transferring accounts is based on the account information you provide us in this form (INSERT LINK). Once we reach the cut-off date we have an automated tool that recreates accounts on the Asia server based off of the US account, then perma-bans the old account from the server, effectively wiping it.

Recreate =/= Merge

Migrated, yes. It means the data would be moved over, but it does not explicitly state what would happen to the existing data on the other side.

This thread states "recreates accounts" while another thread stated:

  • Only your World of Tanks PC account will be moved as part of the transfer. If you already have an existing account on the APAC server, we will work to merge the accounts and preserve everything possible — from tanks to Crews to equipment. Duplicate Premium tanks will be converted. We also will take into consideration Premium time, Gold, Credits, and XP balances — and combine these totals in a fair manner

Thus the resulting confusion by a lot of players.
