Simply put.  How long do players have to endure the ignorant commentary by players?  Personally I tire of the reports but not appearance of follow up on what is a topic that should be held at the same level as cheating IMO.   The onslaught of close minded bigoted players of late and their feelings being expressed about players specifically from South America has gotten to a point where I see it daily, if not hourly.  I don't need to hear "blacklist them"  that already happens.  But I do feel that I am not alone in the concern that this is being allowed to fester, giving it an air of acceptance from Wargaming.   Will I stop playing?  Doubtful as I do enjoy the game and the people I game with.  I simply have gotten to the point that I wanted to vent here.  Put it out there.  I am almost 51 yrs old.  I served my country honorably.  I am a parent of adult children in College.   And I honestly despise the keyboard warrior that feels safe to get away with this acerbic commentary without repercussions.   So there it is Wargaming.  Your move.

1) Report for Inappropriate comments in chat.

Enough will trigger a chat ban.

2) Realize that most people are pretty alright, but some are f-[edited].

Realize that f-[edited]tend to be loud.

3) Put down the thesaurus.

(I gave you  a +1 for content)

You've got two real options:

Ignore it, beyond blacklisting/battle muting

Submit a complaint ticket with your replay showing the inappropriate behavior.  WG might, should they seem the offense serious enough, then give the offending party a chat ban.  But WG can't take action if they don't know about what happened.

Any other path you take, you risk at worst getting yourself in at least as much trouble with WG as the offender, or distracting your team more at best.

Do what you got to do but some quick advice after putting in a ticket is to add the turd to your ignore list or even turn off the chat altogether, the problem with society is only going to get worse as the pendulum swings the other way.

Best you can do is as suggested: take a screenshot if possible and report it to WG.

Troll them back.  Replying Hamburger Hotdog Mashed Potatoes is one of my favs.

Simple solution is if you hold Control > Right Click on name > Select "Add to blacklist".Alternatively the better option is disable chat entirely as the chat commands(Z key or F row keys) still show up in chat.

If you want to report them just take some screenshots and submit them or submit the replay with timestamps of the offending action. In the ticket be polite, concise, and don't ramble on and they should get a heft ban or possibly a perma ban because racism is generally a "do not pass go, do not collect $200" kind of situation...

Hey Old Timer - recommend ignoring it.  Not going to go away, and at the end of the day, who really cares.  If you are really letting words from a 16 y/o get to you, I think you are too comfortable in life and need something else to challenge your brain.  Harping on idiot kids does nothing.

I finally got to the end of the internet this year!

Don't worry, the bad guys lose in the last chapter.

Yeah it’s a sad fact about any multiplayer game. You just have to try and ignore it.

Hey cheesy...whatsuuuup.

Unfortunately, people are going to say things that some of us do not like to hear....whether in this game or just in life.  While I agree that WG should be a little more proactive, it takes time, money, and manpower to play babysitter.  Even if WG was more on top of it, there would still be those jerks that thinks it is "cool' to spew their crap.

Your only real options are to turn off chat, blacklist the player, or just ignore the crap that they spew.  Of course, report the player so that WG is at least made aware of the jerk, but don't hold your breath that they will address every single case....or even most cases.

I share your feelings. The challenge is that you are dealing with lots of different people. Some will hold views that you find repugnant.

All you can really do is blacklist and/or submit a report and move on.

Sadly, it's not just WoT.  It's the world we live in today where bigotry, racism, xenophobia are the new norm.  It's like we're going back in time or something.  And the worse part of it is, you're typically met with a shrug of the shoulders, "too bad, so sad,", "grow a thicker skin."; acceptance by apathy.  Sometimes it makes me question the validity of humanity's existence.

Newsflash, but "South America" is NOT a "race".  I get tired of people misusing that race term on this forum. South America is a geographical region. Let me ask the OP a question...do you know WHY there are so many comments about South American players?

I "shrug my shoulders", because no matter how much I dislike something, a person does have a right in life to be a racist pos.  Whether WG tolerates their crap in their game is completely up to WG.   If WG does not act aggressively to put a stop to it, I can either "shrug my shoulders", or I can find me another game to play.  For me, I would much rather play a game that I enjoy than spend all my time trying to force other to conform to what I like and dislike.

It is tough to realize that you are at the bottom of the barrel when "you've been promised" that this could never be the case.

I tend to ignore such low-life trolls in the internets, simply because there is nothing you can really do about it. They hide behind their all-powerful anonymity sitting on the same chair they will stain watching porn a few minutes later. Let em enjoy their superiority.

I don't claim that this is the right way to do it in RL.

Oh, and ppl diverting the thing into the "racist vs bigot" conversation...well, being right, doesn't always speak strongly about your intentions.

My main point was, it's a bigger problem than WG. It's a societal problem but we just accept it.   You're right, people are free to be bigoted pieces of donkey manure. Doesn't mean we have to accept it.  It's laughable that we can call ourselves civilized when there are so many willfully ignorant or intellectually challenged individuals who hamper the progress of humanity.

Anyway, I'll just join the shoulder-shruggers I guess and move on.
