With the new update out (9.20.1) there is a lot about it that makes the game more interesting. And just like most updates WG has tweaked the MM with promises it will be better. And at first glance it does appear to be better, it seems like tank line ups are very much balanced. But ever since the update I have had an overwhelming amount of one sided losses! I've been playing this game since 2014 and I understand that MM does not take into account peoples skill but I mean ever since I have joined I have had a random mix of wins and loses like you would expect in a random battle. I'm just trying to see if anyone else is experiencing these very one sided games more commonly now? For me its become so common it's almost every game that ends very close to 1-15.

​I mean losing always sucks, and that is just part of playing random battles but having a epic loss is no fun at all and I am playing a video game to have fun!... I typically don't get a chance to have positive dmg ratio anymore cause all the sudden there are like 4 tanks on me cause my team died. 

 

Is anyone else having this same problem or am I just stuck in this bad luck rut at the moment?

Streaks are normal in random distributions.

 

If you didn't get streaks, that would actually be a pretty clear indication that something dodgy is happening.

I was still the only arty in a tier 10 match last night around 9:30 est. As for win and losing streaks, it is what it is and MM can’t change that.

Getting with people in T9s and 10s doing less than 1000 dmg and dying. Somehow I'm running around 50/50. But the losses are just staggering. Wins are just a turkey shoot.

MM got boring and repetitive.Same battles over and over.This whole 9.18-9.20.1 is a huge disappointment.

Since the latest release the MM is actually MUCH WORSE. I have been on the wrong end of endless lopsided losses. Streaks are part of the game, but before the latest release I had very few complete blowout losses, they were actually rare. Since the release pretty much 95% of my losses have been by 8+ tanks. 50% by 10+ tanks. I had 2 games in a row last night that were 14-1 losses, that's pathetic MM at work. They have been at this for many years, fix the damn code.

Oh yeah, forgot about the map rotation code, that seems to have been quietly dropped. I get the same maps over and over again, just like before.

I don't mean to say streaks are the problem. Cause I've had losing streaks before... and often :( but my main issue that I notice now is just losing by a lot. Where the winning team has 8+ more tanks then us. It seems more one sided then it use to be and for once it is confusing to me because the tank line up looks better and evenly matched.

People always "notice" that there "seem" to be more blowouts after every patch.

 

There have been enough patches by this point that if there were anything more to this observation than confirmation bias, every match would be 15-0 for one side or the other.

 

And yet, they are not.

IDK but I had a battle wilth only 2 top tiers so they definitely did stuff
As far as one-sided battles I think they decreased, I remember only a very few battles where it wasn't just leave whole flans open and bunch up in one place blocking each other
When you analyze wipeout games remember to substract the ones it is clearly the decisions of your team and not the game

I have been greatly enjoying the new MM. I have not seen a great increase in blowouts. I am performing better than before because of the new MM. Thank you WG.

I don't think lopsided wins-losses are the fault of the MM. I think that rests squarely on the players. A LOT of players have failed up to tier 9-10 tanks and are clueless about how to play them. No longer can you depend on a tier 9-10 tank to "come to the rescue" of a failing team. Now, it's the tier 9-10 tank that has failed early and is partly responsible for the loss. When you see tier 9-10 heavies going valley on Lakeville and beach on Overlord, you just KNOW that something is VERY WRONG.

I have seen a difference in win-losses. I played today for an hour and finished 0-7. The very same happened on the weekend. Most losses, the team never had a fighting chance. This has actually been a trend since the last 2-3 updates. That is a problem.

 

I know WG won't consider Skill and Experience but I believe that is the answer. No matter what you are driving, an experienced player will always have the upper hand over a less skilled player <period>.

I'm with you, my win rate since the update is in the low 30's. The period before the update I was over 50%. I generally only play tier 10 and have had an insane amount of games where the entire team goes one way - and we lose by 10 tanks. No amount of "carry" works when most of the team pays zero attention to the map. I pretty much NEVER saw that at tier 10 until the last update. They HAVE to take the skills of the players into account, just matching up vehicles doesn't work. I'm taking a break from playing for a while since it's zero fun getting stomped 7 out of 10 games.

All I know is my win%, WIN8, and EFF has taken a nosedive since the last patch. Checked with WOTINFO myself: patch came out the 18th and within a day everything has changed for the worse. This isn't a good trend. MAYBE. HOPEFULLY, the last micropatch will fix the behind-the-scenes stuff with the MM. Just like most people, I thought MM would be better, but nooooooo! I'm starting to think that MM should figure in skill level, along with type AND +1/-1 MM. Too many lob-sided matches now.

 

PS: patch updates during the middle of the week is idiotic. They should be done on Monday. Why? Patch is installed on Wednesday. Patch has some "issues". Weekend comes with the lemming rush brigade ("x3 weekend? OMG! OMG! YOLO!&quot;) of 11 year-olds and 1st timers who just bought and account, have no idea how to play, and decided to open their wallets to buy a Super Pershing/Lowe/whatever premium sounds cool. Oh yeah, that makes the win% go way down too.

release them on Monday, so that way all of the bugs can be found DURING THE WEEK and NOT DURING PEAK (lemming rush) WEEKEND HOURS.

I track the team WN8 difference for each match.   Basically just sum all 15 players WN8 and Chaco the % difference.   Played 19 games last night, 9 has a 20+% differential.  With 4 having a 30+% differential.  8 of the 9 were for the opposing team.    Not a great night.

They need to fix it, and then extend it to all the tiers..  I'm not sure why they are doing their experimenting on the top tier tanks, but if I had to guess why people are complaining about tier 8s getting sucked into T10 matches, I'd bet it is because the MM needs them to feed in where their categorizations are needed - i.e. the highest tier battles.

 

I think when/if they roll out updates that also affect lower tiers, the lower tiers will start to see more T8s and vice versa.  In the meantime, I'd think it would be time to play T6 and T7s, given the T8s seem to be getting sucked upwards.

I'very had a lot of balanced games but most turned into losses due to people refusing to share their HP, take advantage of numbers, or a complete failure to focus fire, watch allies backs, etc.

 

WGing can't fix stupid.

Agreed. When my whole team rushes to one side and gets slaughtered by 3 enemy tanks, that's when I chuckle and say:

 

"ya we're.............screwed".

 

That's why I play a KV2 because it's a money making machine, and I just have to hit one enemy to make a profit lol (Granted I still do my best of course.).
