Day 3 in the books, see the spoiler above.

One lesson learned, when running tier 10 to try and get damage, you sometimes get Grand Battles.  This is great for damage, but it is harder to be in top 10.  Might be better to run tier 9s if you are late in the marathon and need to spam a lot of games.  Tier 9 damage potential is about the same and you won't have to worry about Grand Battles.  Just something to think about.

Or, just turn off grand battles and run T10.

Day 4 in the books, see the spoiler above.

One lesson learned, server reset is not the same time that the missions reset.  They are offset about 30 minutes.  so just because you see the x2/x3 has refreshed on your tanks, make sure you check the missions and see if they are reset as well.

Day 5 in the books.  Very painful with a small rant at the end about "wins" based mission requirements,.

All,

I’m planning to tackle all three marathons.  I’ll be streaming each time I work on it even if it’s just for a short time to document the journey.  I’ll post here when I’m up and running each time.

Plan is to front load as many missions as possible and clean up as required if I miss a few.

Once I’m done I’ll seek mental help and marriage counseling...

As usual when I stream I’ll discuss what I’m doing and why though that will be colored by spamming for the Marathon especially in the later stages.

My streams are saved so you can check out any you missed.

Additionally I’ll post here the progress and any inside info on how to knock this out.

See you out there and I’ll get started tonight.  Assume the crash position...

Cheers,

Guido

Yeah, the win missions can be a bit of a pain, depending a lot on luck of the MM. This is primarily because WoT MM isn't always particularly fair in small sample sizes, yet daily missions by their very nature force relatively small sample sizes.  This is not the only case of this issue.  Ranked battles also suffered from sample size vs it being "intended as a sprint" problems.  WG either needs to work on MM so that it is more fair over small sample sizes, or design missions and alternate modes with the sample size issues of MM in mind.

Side note, off topic:

Spud,  the flyover was F-18s, they were pretty much right on time (typically timed for the last note of the anthem).  Pilots got to the field around the 3rd quarter (this is typical if one or more of the pilots is an alum and there is a field close enough they can land and make part of the game and get some recognition/show the colors etc).  Unfortunately I was riding a friends coat tails in one of the box seats and they were slightly offset so I could not see them even as I tried to lean out a bit.  I heard them and that was about it.  Another friend of mine said they looked good from the champion's club seats.  I don't think there was anything especially unique, just fast jets, low as legally possible and flying good formation.

Cheers,

Guido

Thanks.  Guess it was either folks impressed with the flying, or just chance I happened to notice the comments. The coolest I've seen personally was a pair of B2s.  They were well timed, and I never heard them.  Admittedly, the stadium was rocking an easy 110dBs all on its own, so that would have covered a large chuck of their noise.

But on topic, are you now planning to skip some of the larger win count days for the T34 and IS-6?  With only needing 15 of 20, and presumably able to play every day, it would seem a good sanity saving measure.

All 3 is way too much for me, just going for the 34.

Good luck Guido !

I will likely end up doing just one of them on one day, and then do the other on another day to avoid doing both on one day.  I want to get through 10 without skipping any and then reassess from there.

After this weekend, I am reassessing the reality of what I can earn and what I may need to buy.  The XP and wins proved to be far harder to get than anticipated.  I'd win but not get the xp, or i'd get the xp but not win.  I averaged 3 games per combination achieved which would put some of the later missions completely out of range.  Hoping to go 15-10-10 at this time.

Day 6 in the books, se the spoiler above.

I have definitely under estimated the amount of time this will take.  I'm still plugging along but it's going to get very time consuming very fast.  I haven't played very well at all, so that's hurt me, or perhaps that was part of the under estimation problem.

Obviously WG didn't really intend that doing all three was really feasible for the vast majority of players.  But I will say that doing 1 is within anyone's grasp and that's pretty cool.

Cheers,

Guido

10 kills with the T67 was easy.  Soviet side, keep getting kill robbed so to speak/late to the party.  I'll try that mission again later this evening.  German mission I won't torture myself with.

I recall all of these marathons in past, pretty much made you lay out a few bucks if you wanted the reward.  They aren't going to make it easy when there is revenue to be made.

A couple 1/2 way decent games in the T-10 and 704 got the kills required.

I just gave up yesterday after 12 games, 1 win. One of the more painful streaks I've ever tried to play through. Hopefully today goes better. Win reqs can go die in a deep, deep hole.

One of the worst win rate days ever for me. I should cry. Still plugging away at all 3 though.

But you'll have 3 shiny new premiums in the garage!

When I did CW campaigns, I had to explain it to my wife first.
