I installed Win10 Fall Creators Update #1709 and it has a conflict with World of Tanks.  My WoT crashed when loading every time.  I tried the following..

  • Set run as Win7 in Compatibility, Run as Administrator, no change
  • Installed the latest graphics driver (AMD) no change
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled WoT via WG Game Client, no change
  • Uninstalled and reinstall WoT via interent install, no change

Finally I reverted back to the previous version of Win10 and WoT worked fine again.  Have only had the opportunity to test this on my laptop (AMD cpu and graphics) but will test on my desktop later this week and see if it is having same issues.

So BEWARE of the Win10 Fall Creators Update #1709, now being rolled out by MS.  Ticket submitted to WoT

I know this doesn't help, but I upgraded and WOT is running it just fine.

My computer will not install that piece of garbage update but it instead gave me a severe paging fault that has my old hard drive locked up in an endless data collecting cycle.  So, I ordered a new drive but have not gotten it back up yet.  Good luck on that.

My three year old ASUS RoG came with Win 8.1.    When it came available I did the "free" update to Win 10.   Unfortunately I used it past the 30 day grace period, and could not revert back to the old OS.   Win 10 is so full of bloatware and spyware that I paid ASUS $40 to send me a flash drive with my original Win 8.1 version on it that I reinstalled.

I do believe Wargaming mentioned they will not support creators updates

Latest update presently being "pushed" out by MS.  Based on a timed release, so it may take a month or so before it hits everyone.

I hope that is true of my desktop.  Traveling now and just the laptop, but I installed on desktop just before I left and haven't gotten back to test it yet.

50k complaints on the interwebs about it:

Microcrap Windows 10 update 1709 (fall creators update) causes MAJOR problems with games played in full screen mode. Alt+tab and even just exiting games causes your entire system to lock, and the only why to recover is a forced restart. (holding power button until computer shuts down) Of the 300 "fixes" being pushed, the only one that works (for now) is to play ONLY in Windowed mode.

Microcrap is worse than WG when it comes to updates breaking more things than it fixes.

I have the same problem with my AMD crossfire display adapter. Check and repair  games files, some updates are done, but the problem always present.
