It actually used to be like that... I miss it, it was clear and straight to the point...

It wasn't pretty, but it didn't need to be...

Since I'm patient enough to click and read something, I have no problems with the mission displays.

I can navigate them efficiently and I know what I need to do. No complaints.

Same, but the designer in me just cringes.

I agree with you OP. They should look into refining the interface with due focus on content under question.

The old interface wasn't perfect but was vastly superior to the mystery inside a riddle wrapped in an enigma that we have now, and no-one asked for.

Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you should have to wade through such childish dribble to get what an adult could out of the OPs suggestion.

I can read the missions, too.  Not just fine, but after deciphering their childish icons and sorting out their multi-mouse-click-required explanations, I can handle it just fine.  That doesn't mean I would like to keep that trashy piece of CRAP that is the Mission UI 2.0 Debacle.

You have to be patient at this game to do well at all, so in my book, being patient is a given.  Being forced to read stuff that D-I-c-k[edited]and Jane couldn't parse in the 2nd Grade isn't my idea of an adult level design.

[SERIOUSLY WG!?!  You can't leave the word that is a UBIQUITOUS NICKNAME FROM PREHISTORY out of your swear filter?  SERIOUSLY?!?  (in case you're wondering, those of you old enough to have to have read the D-ick and Jane series of reading primers, you can't use Richard's nickname, because WG is too freaking stupid to understand that the occasional D-ick joke is worth being able to use someone's proper nickname.]

YMMV

Insightful and witty, unfortunately it will not be appreciated by most. Best read this morning!

And to fix it?  It's called Reversion.  The old system was SO MUCH BETTER and all they had to do was just leave it alone.

I agree, very poor design.

They chose form over function.  It's fun to look at on a conference room projector.  Pretty.

The information is there somewhere, you just have to go find it for yourself.  Good luck.

Yes, I agree a very poor design as it is.

My only comment on this is that a majority of players are stating that they are losing more battles now then at any other time. This makes it extremely hard to ever complete some of the missions as they are now.

I've noticed that my stats are also dropping [I take screen shots once a week of my stats] with all the losses that have been occurring.

GREATLY agree.  The unimproved mission interface goes out of its way to make it harder to understand the mission requirements.

I stopped looking at missions since it takes too long to figure out what they want.

If their goal was to make people stop paying attention to missions, then Yay! they succeeded.

I think my favorite is that they give you tokens that don't link to a mission that's available yet.  Or worse, you can't simply click on the token to go straight to the mission... you have to back out and then go find the event that it's possibly linked to.

Yeah, it's clear as mudd.

How can more players lose more battles now than at any other time?

Unless there is a significant increase in the number of drawn games, for every loser there is a winner.

Disabuse me of this golden principle of equilibrium if untrue?

Good for you.  Readable and poor design are not mutually exclusive, it's possible that the UI can be both readable AND yet, still poorly designed.
