Just had a game that highlighted how messed up the cammo values are currently. I was being spotted by a t100-lt sitting dead center of the map, we knew he was somewhere there, but 1/2 our team must have driven past him lessthan 75m. yet he was able to spot me 400m+ in a grille 15, cammo net, bia, +4 crew 100% cammo.

He might have been using enhanced equipment and directives. That's why so many people have a negative opinion of bonds.

It could have also been a different tank spotting you. You never know who spotted you from your point of view. Have you ever tried PMing the person you think spotted you, and ask them for the replay?

Replay would help.

Every time people post these wild claims, and they never provide a replay... Sorry, but people lie and exaggerate, so it's always better to provide proof. At least tell us the map, and the location you suspect the light tank was hiding, and where your team was driving, and... Heck, just upload the replay, it's easier!

Now, there has been an invisibility glitch which is/was extremely rare, so we would like to see that replay as well... I've seen one before, it's funny... and sad.

I've been killed by strv tds from literally 30-40 meters away and not spotted them.

If you provided a replay, people (better at this game than me), would tell you what happened and why.  Without the replay, your post looks like reckless exaggeration.

Yes, it is common knowledge the T-100 LT has bull[edited] camo...

Your problem was trying to use concealment in a Grille 15 as it has absolutely horrendous camo value for something people like to camp in vs the waffle 9 or strv ect.

Camo is a pretty silly mechanic. It has no outright counter.

View range does not counter camo. If an enemy unit is behind bushes with paint and camo net, it will remain unspotted, unless it is med tank like E5O or M48A, or a TD like Jag Pz or FVs, or heavy tanks. Double bush just makes things horrible. Unless the hidden tank fires, unless swede TDs or E25, detection is terrible, and will cost you terrible chunks of HP

camo only known counter, is city maps. Where known camo spots like Paris or ensk or ruinberg, can simply be avoided and you may use a city flank.

In my my honest opinion E25 needs view range nerfs, like other typical T7 TDs, reduced gun Traverse so it constantly has to shift and break binocs+camo net, and Swede TDs need advantage of maintaining camo net + binocs on siege mode pivot removed. This reduces their campy stale effect

Unfortunately, that's another lie, because anything closer than 51m (i.e. 50m) will be automatically spotted regardless of obstructions. Why do people feel the need to exaggerate? I mean, sure, it's possible someone can shoot from as close as maybe 100m if they are behind two different bushes and an ice cream truck and not get spotted, but to even pretend that it was less than 50m you have to be pretty desperate for attention.

Either that or you literally don't know the definition of the word "literally".

I begin to question some things here lately. I have earned almost 200 bonds in the last week. Some from getting major awards . some from tier 10 fights. As too the detection mechanic working, i have had my grille 15 detected by pattons. Hidden, double bushed, 4 tier crew with camo and net. pushing 40%. I have had a patton behind a hill, spotted, just his gun over and he detected me. I was not traversing my gun and was in position and still from the first minute of match. Away from all the regular hidden light positions. So I know there was no secondry spotter. On the flip side i have been inside 50 meters of an e100 on mines and he drove up on me and shot me before he popped on map. Same fora t100lt on karalia camped in a bush by the north cap and within my 50 meter distance and he was not detected until after i was killed by his team. there is some weird deal here , either server based or .....

I used to care about camo, but these days it's pretty pointless with Tier 8 heavies driving around with 400m viewrange on these 800x800 maps.  The Caernavon usually gets more spotting done because i pop out, everyone sees me and wants to take a shot, so they all reveal themselves.

Then I get hit by 3 arty for the rest of the game...

I wouldn't even bother relying on camo these days.  Unless you are driving some swedish TD or E25.

Lots of guys have invested tons of bonds into seal clubbing with particular tanks, so you can never compete, don't even try.

Not sure what you want people to tell you, the view range of his tank was able to overmatch the camo percent of your tank. Thats how the game has always worked.

I love my Swede's camo.  It's literally all it has for survival, since they scrapped the autobounce overhaul that was supposed to make its armor actually stop something occasionally.

The camo directive is a lot less effective than you may think.  All it does is make your camo crew work at 110% (a detectable increase, but minimal real effect).

High camo tanks with 100% camo trained in a good bush are basically invisible till proxy spotted without any special gear.

Yeah but an extra few percent camo can be the difference of being spotted while firing behind bushes or not being spotted.  High enough camo and just one bush can keep your camo at 50% even while firing.

the lack of player knowledge is what the joke is.

the grille15 has horrifyingly bad camo - especially when moving or shooting.  I don't even have the LT100, but if I were to promote my T54LT crew to it, here's how far away I can spot your Grille 15 if you so much as twitch the hull, or fire - with me meanwhile running optics + vents (for simplicity I also made your crew 100% camo across all 6 crewmembers, not just the 4 you have)

not that any of this matters, the maps where view range actually matters are so rare that it makes the thread author's post even more of a joke.
