Maybe we should send a question to a dev and ask them If a "battle level" is the same as a "battle tier".  Simple, non-invasive question.

If the developer didn't provide the answer they wanted to hear, it would have to be a lie.

Why can't you folks move beyond the whole childish "I'm right and you're wrong" shtick.  The real questions to be asked should be:

1)  Is the game manipulated to favor certain categories of players based on stats?

2)  What are said stats?

3)  How does it work?

Trust me....you'll never get an answer, honest or otherwise.

But your answer to #3 depends on whether your interpretation of the patent is right or wrong.

Wouldn't you expect #3 to be explicitly explained in the patent if it did what you claim?

Can i interject in this orgasm of the minds and ask, how do tiers even play into this if one just plays tier 10, eliminating the patent's selective variable tiering (if we assume its active)

In the old days, BT11 & BT12 matches.  Now, BT10 5/10/0 and 15/0/0 matches.  Of course, this is assuming that part is active, which testing has suggested it isn't.

Of course...and it is.  But some on this forum are apparently so dim that they need something more.

Why move on when you are wrong. You have your own definitions and an ability to read cryptic messages in a patent, an ability that only Shadora shares with you.

You are asking why the sky is red when the rest of world sees it as blue, and the sky is telling you in plain English it is blue. The question you should be asking is why only you and Shadora see red. It is quite silly(childish) to expect the discussion to go further when you can't validate your premise.

From Overlord's Blog(Dmitry Yudo, WOT Producer at the time), February 2011, a year before the patent application, patch 6.3.8:

It seems WG uses Battle Tier and Battle Level interchangeably. For another explanation of how MM worked before templates:

Oh... look at this. 2017 and WG still references the battle level table in their patent. Isn't it strange how it looks the same whether it is called battle tier or battle level.

Patent number: 9610504
Abstract: Methods and systems for performing smart matchmaking in a massive multiplayer online game are described herein. A video game such as a vehicle-based combat game may include multiple types of vehicles, where each type of vehicle may progress through increasing tier levels. Different types of vehicles within the same tier may have different capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses. When performing matchmaking for a game session, a matchmaking server may use a battle level table defining permissible tiers of each type of vehicle allowed within a particular battle level, and may also limit the number of a specific type of vehicle allowed in any one game session. The battle table may provide an advantage to premium vehicles by limiting the tiers of other vehicles against which a similarly tiered premium vehicle may compete. Battle level difficulty may be adjusted by adjusting the ranges of permissible vehicles in each battle level.
