Prices are now there but no mention of unused token compensation. Come on wg communicate with your player base!!!!!!!! Its is so hard ?

I only need one and may buy 5 if compensation in worthwhile.

I sincerely doubt there will be any compensation, as this is on par with WarGaming's current practices of giving the customer exactly what they don't want.

They will usually give you X Gold per unused token.  But with WG who knows.

I'm not going to burn a Warning Point to say what I really think about this Marathon Mission, but I'm not happy.

> WG purposely hid how the Tokens work (ie you cant split 5 tokens over multiple tanks) to watch people grind tanks for 2 weeks.

> Oh, you are 2 point short on the T34 and the IS6?  I guess you need to buy $40 worth of tokens if you want both tanks

> Oh, you were gone for a week and need 6 tokens for the tank you want?  GTFO, you can only buy 5

Token system doesn't seem too well thought out on this one, IMO.  Why not have a single token available to buy?  Make them slightly more costly per single unit than they would be if 5 were bought.  For example, the 5 tokens for the IS6B are 18.99 USD, which is 3.798 USD per token.  So make singles available for 4.00 USD.  Otherwise the only reward for exceeding 5, 10, or 15 marathon missions are the boosters and quite frankly, the aggravation of trying to accomplish some of these aren't worth it.

I would disagree, I think they thought out the token system very well. It maximizes their profits. Bait people into playing for two weeks solid and fall just a little short so they open their wallets not wanting all that effort to go to waste

Yeah, I didn't want to go with the cynical, corporate profit minded view when I made my comment.  I still like to think Wargaming is into making a fun game for players while making a tidy profit.  In this instance, your assertion seems very likely which is disappointing to me.

They didn't purposely hide anything. They said from day one you can buy tokens in groups of 5 if you come up short. There are 3 separate missions so naturally a group of 5 would be for the same tank.

Again they already said "groups of five" so instead of looking at it as coming up 2 points shy on two tanks and paying $40, you are saving roughly $60 total for the 2 hvy tanks. You don't have to buy the tokens if you came up short.

Lastly, they gave you 5 extra missions you could complete if you did come up short without having to buy any tokens.

They did say groups of 5, but they didn't say you are limited to one 5 pack per account, which is now stated on the sale page.

There are people who were going to do 5 missions and then buy 10 tokens to finish, who will not be able to now because WG didn't communicate that prior to the marathon.

I believe you will be credited Halloween Jack-O-Lantern emblems for any residual tokens.

Warning - potential dumb question.

How / where does one look to find out the completed missions status? (I really dislike the disorganized / hard-to-interpret UI.)

I completed some of them just not sure how many. Must also express, the goals were on the lofty side and was just no way I was going to commit the personal time trying to get a number of them completed (want a life outside of the game, ya know).

Yeah... but it's just not that big a deal.

I'm in the same boat on the IS-6B... only got 8 missions done and I'm not sure I'll be able to get two more because of RL conflicts. I was hoping I could buy 10 tokens and get it.  Since 5 tokens cost $19, that means I was willing to spend $38 to get a tank that I could buy right now for $52, saving $14 or 27%.  Mind you, it's a tank I was never wild about to begin with (which is why I never bought it before), and when I do this math I realize it's probably not worth $38 to me, either.  Even at $19 it's sort of marginal, considering how rarely I'll drive it.

And to be honest, I don't see why WG doesn't let you buy 10 tokens for the same tank.   That's twice the cash in their pocket, right?  That suggests that their main motive in these missions was to encourage people to play hard, at least every other day, for 20 days.  Could that be an attempt to pump up their server stats so NA looks better to the WG global?  Or to get people in the habit of playing, with summer over and the holiday season coming up?

There are no dumb questions, only dumb people. :-)

In the game client, click on your Missions tab, and then on the Events tab within that.  (Going from memory here... it's the left-most tab within Missions).  You should see all three of the Marathons there, with an indicator showing how many missions you've done.

I may need 1 token too and I find it a little vexing that you have to buy 5

If they credit back bought but unneeded/unused tokens (and I believe they will), my guess for a value is about 500 or maybe as much as 750 gold per token.  I base that loosely on the dollars they charge when selling small amounts of gold in the prem shop.

I did a quick search and found the EU's T25 Pilot mission this past year. At the bottom was their reply concerning leftover tokens. Hopefully, that will apply now as well.

All excess, leftover or unused tokens purchased in the Premium Shop will be compensated with 600 each between 27 March and 27 May.

I was looking for the marathon missions for the T-34-85M and the T-44-100 for the same thing.  And as near as I can tell, the T-34-85M, since it was easier and cheaper ($8 for 5 tokens) the value was less, but the T-44-100, since that was a BEAST marathon, the gold value was 1,712 per $8.99 ticket for each nation.

So, expect the value to be between 500 and 1,500?  Jeez, that's government guessification for ya.

Wait are you sure about this? Did they give gold for unused tokens last year? I don't recall this. Because if that's the case, that changes everything. I wouldn't feel as bad buying tokens if I get some gold back out.

Why would wargaming refund you for anything when they clearly stated from the beginning that tokens were going to be purchasable in sets of 5. It isn't their fault that you didn't read the information provided.

Here is a link for the WZ111 Marathon from a couple years ago.  Im still looking for last year.  You can click on the box to open the "Tokens".  At the bottom it says

Block Quote

Any unused token that was purchased in the Premium Shop will be converted to 2,500 at the end the event.

Here is a link to the T-34-85M Marathon, its EU, but I think our was exactly the same

https://worldoftanks...3485m-marathon/

Block Quote

FAQ: T-34-85M and Tokens

Collapse

What happens if I buy tokens but have more than 13 after the purchase?

All excess, leftover or unused tokens purchased in the Premium Shop will be compensated with 290 each between 25 July at 07:00 and 25 September at 07:00 CEST (UTC+2).

For example, you received 6 tokens by completing daily missions, and purchased 10 tokens in the Premium Shop. As you now have 16 tokens, but only require 13, three of your purchased tokens will be converted to 290 each.

Now that doesn't mean it will work the same for this one, especially since they didn't post anything about it.

it involves calculations and things like that ( since the token price will be different from each other)u sure WG is willing to make the effort to do it? :teethhappy:
