Hi,

I'm looking for a skin to cover up the Patriot and Libertae clown-car paint jobs.

OR...

Is there a way to copy the regular tank (non-red white blue) versions and replace the red-white-blue- versions (rename)?

Or does that risk messing up the game?

Thanks!

I know Aslains has murica paintjobs for the SuperPershing and T34, as well as non GF skins for the grand finals tanks, not sure about the Patriot and Liberte specifically but I bet they're in there.

Have you no sense of patriotism?

Yes, which is why I don't paint the flag on my posterior!

I'm looking for the non-Merica paint jobs.

Is that what you meant any be in Aslands?

Thanks, I'll have a look.

I was able to open the game files, but didn't want to mess with the layers of color skins (I have a Mutz skin that looks like regular camo - but it is one layer and lives in my res-mods folder.

to answer your question

yes, its pretty easy.  just need winrar.

open the game's res file.  drag the texture files (1 for hull, 1 for turret, 1 for gun. and you should be golden) out of the non colorful one.

rename the file to the colorful one's name

and then you got 2 options.

A. drop them in res_mods under the file path for the colored one (basic tank skin method)

or B.  (the nuke option), drop it directly into the color one's res file.

the difference between these is the res mod one will need to be moved to the new res mod folder every update.

the nuke option, will never need to be changed unless WG makes a change to that specific tank.

neither options risks screwing your game

i'd show screenshots of how to do it. but i'm stuck at work for the next few hours (with a 6 hour meeting to bore me to death coming up).

I think I did something wrong...

The hull changed, but not the turret or suspension.

You need all the files. You did not install the script file, which is required. Place the gui, scripts and vehicles folders inside your 'res_mods/9.20.1.3/' folder. If the game is running then restart it.
