Hello, players!

We created this topic in the forum to help you understand how the LatAm test server will work.  If you have any further questions, please post them in this thread.

When will the test server open?

On November 29, 2017.

Can I play on the test server at any time?

No. The server will be online every day from 11am to 2am the next day, every day (Brazil Time - UTC -2:00);

The daily running time of the test servers may vary according to the results obtained over time.

Why won’t the server stay online all day?

For now this is a test server and we will be collecting and analyzing data each day so that we are better able to meet the needs of the community.

Why are you launching a Latin American test server?

The main point raised by the LatAm player community to improve the WoT experience was the latency.  This server will allow us to test a variety of factors that affect latency in the region.

How do I play on the test server?

When starting World of Tanks, simply select the LATAM Test server. But it is highly possible that the game client already recognizes and activates this server automatically.

Do I have to create a new account to play?

No.

Do I need to download a new client from the game?

No.

Will I lose XP and Credits while I use the test server?

No. All XP and Credits received on the test server will be obtained in the same way and remain usable on the NA main server.

If I have a problem, what should I do?

You must send a ticket to our Support and/or report the error in the forum. The more information players give us, the less chance of problems occurring in the future.

Will my ping be low compared to the American server?

Most likely. However, in the early days we may face problems to optimize access to all players.

What if I want to play when the test server is off?

You will be able to play normally on the North American server during the absence of the test server.

Cabbage the burning question most of us want to know and some are worried about is will this result in a separate server and further lower the NA population?

Or will it be a "jump", for my lack of a proper term, to allow those players to get better ping, etc. on the NA server?

I played a game on it earlier today.

Population was 1900, ping was good, under 75.

I will miss playing with the Brazilians and Spanish speakers. It kept my language skills sharp.

Hopefully Latin American server will usher in NA to EU server transfers. Hope it goes well.

welp..

guess the population drop will finally give them enough reason to shut us down and ride off into the sunset with all our fish...

So with that in thought why would I spend anymore money on this game?

Looks like the "Make NA Great Again" crowd are going to get their wish.

Good news for our Latin American friends.. maybe not so good news for us in North America.

Now I see why you wanted to merge NA East and West.  It's almost like WGNA had a plan or something.  :)

is this launch also why regular common test 1/2 are not accepting log-ins for the past couple of hours?  or is that a different causation?

if I recall correctly it updated only yesterday to experiment with personalization and dead today?

The best example at this point would be the ANZAC server that the Asia now has.  Technically, the server being tested is a "shard" of the Asia server, meaning that players belong to the Asia server and remain in Asia's databases but are able to play on a more local source during peak hours.

As far as the NA population, while it is not large as it once was it is still not small - NA isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

We will definitely be examining all affected factors during testing to see where any negative impacts might occur.

Common test has been shut down for now - no information at this time when it will be back up.  The new customization features will be coming to the live server in the near future in any case!

The NA server is still a cash cow, they won't be shutting it down anytime soon...

Since I'm not at home to see this right now, just wondering if having a LatAm server means we NA players will now have 2 to choose from, similar to the former East & West servers?

I hope you are right fellow tanker.

I'm just now getting to the point where I have a better understanding of how to play better and actually enjoying it. Don't want it to end...

thanks.  looking forward to seeing long purple cylinders when you guys bring out maps that are worth playing on that aren't 8 years old, or obscenely congested brawling pits or funnels.

The fact that they just offered a $900 bundle, only on the NA server, suggests that there are still people here willing to shovel money into WG's pockets. I suspect profits from NA carry many of the poorer EU countries.

Thankfully we will have the option to unchecked and not see all non historical paint schemes.

We went from NA east/west to Americas north/south. I approve, although I think the biggest negative impact is going to be on SH queue times as all the SA clans switch to the other server. Pub matches queue in 10 seconds or so for me, taking 20 seconds is no big deal, but jumping from 45 sec to 1:30 for skirmishes is going to suck.

you assume I don't want to see them.  I honestly don't care how garish the tanks look.

I'm just beyond bored with the same old boring 8 year old maps, and the 3-4 year old "newer" maps that are all choke points/brawling pits...

the klondike map is the first one in a LONG time that I enjoyed playing - but I won't be able to force that map, or see it in lower tiers, and on top of that another issue is that while in the chaos of common test it's fresh, and people run around not knowing where to go so the heat maps aren't all well known

after about a week on live server it would get to be about the same problems we have in some other maps.  too much of the fight is contested in the northwest (funny similar to the removed northwest map) and too many passive players in TDs and Mediums "sniping" in the ledges around the rest of the map.

I want to add a sidenote here as someone who lives fairly close to this new test server: I have a far better connection to European servers than I have to the US Central server, even though the latency is a little higher it's simply very stable with no packet loss.

The European people who are having problems on the NA Central server might wanna try out this new server too, I think they'll have a better route to us than going into the continental US.
