Since I'm not at home to see this right now, just wondering if having a LatAm server means we NA players will now have 2 to choose from, similar to the former East & West servers?

Yes, NA players in NA will are able to connect to the LATAM server by selecting it from the dropdown menu at the login screen, just like the previous East/West.

So we have purple brazilian players with "bad ping" and some texan players old tomatoes. An remember, not only from Argentina and Brazil, also from Korea, Russia, Mongolia, etcyou will find very good players and clans in NA server. Do we need more proof that distance or "local playstyle" have nothig with been good or bad player?

I can only say that the difference bewteen 200+ms of lag and just 50ms is amazing.

So the thing with latency is surely working, im in Argentina BTW.

I live in Sao Paulo, Brasil.

I tried the LATAM server yesterday by running around on some TR maps.

Ping ranged fro 1 to 24, staying generally between 5 & 15. My guess is that the server is located in or near to Sao Paulo.

Switched to NA Central and ping was ~ 160 like usual.

I felt no real difference in smoothness of driving or quickness of shooting between the 2 servers.

Merge the servers because the player base is too small to support 2 and then split them up again.

What is the URL of LATAM server to use with PingPlotter to monitor ping?

At last with the * LATAM Server * I can also play WoT with Latency Rates <50ms rather than the 200 - 300 we've had to struggle with all these years. Most EU & NA players can't imagine how much harder it is to play when everything is more than 1/4 sec delayed (if not completely stopped).

Please make this permanent and I'm sure you'll see many more new players (and old ones returning) in this huge market. Just because some NA players may have to wait a few seconds longer for the MM doesn't justify keeping the whole of Central/South America with the worst Latency.

Do you have the IP address of the LATAM server?  Several players I know were asking because they are in South America and get worse ping on the LATAM server than on the NA central server in Chicago.  It seems that some players in Colombia and Venezuela have worse ping on the LATAM server than on the US Central server.  I'm curious where the issue is.

Hopefully this server will remain connected to NA, like the old east/west thing. Let the SA players enjoy better ping for randoms but keep the joint server pop high for CW and other such things. The fact that WG won't allow server transfers outside of special circumstances is aggravating. I hope to move to SA in a few years and don't want to play SA server till then, but don't want to have to permanently pick between the two. With the current paradigm, I would have to pick the minute the SA server went live and live with the consequences, which is obviously less than optimal.

WG should keep the servers "merged" or allow some mechanism for swapping servers. I've payed a small countries GDP on this game over the years, and swapping servers or roaming is no great technological feat. Other than a few mismatched tanks here and there (think gold Type 59), what is the real reason? I don't think anyone wants to play on the Chinese server anyway. People only want to swap server for 2 reasons. Ping and server population.  I'm pretty sure NA players in general don't want to live with high ping (for EU server) just to gain their server pop, I sure as hell don't.

This will eliminate what? You never played on EU have you? That nirvana will go away very quickly when you are connecting across the ocean on Telia feed. Before you start thinking EU is the promised land best go make a account there and buy one Prem tank. It is nothing like NA. You also can kiss most of the free stuff goodbye.
