Is'nt everyone sick of scumbags drowning themselves to avoid fighting?

EDIT : the numbers i propose are merely an example. I'm not suggesting x20 is optimal, but some form of punishment is to be set in place. I just made up some multipliers to set up numerical examples.

A very simple solution :

OPTION 1:

- If a player dies by drowning, they gain no revenue from the match, and they pay x20 their normal expense cost, and gain no xp for that game

ex - a player, at the end of the battle, should have received 30,000 credits, with 20,000 repair/resupply costs, and 850 xp, for a net total of 10,000 credits profit and 850 xp; However, because this player drowned themselves, they receive 0 credits, with 20000(x20)= 400,000 repair/resupply cost, for a total of -400,000 net loss and 0 xp. (again, please take these numbers as a numerical example, not what exactly should be dont)

OPTION 2:

- if a player dies by drowning, the receive -50% credits and xp for the next 10 games.

ex - a player, at the end of the battle, should have received 30,000 credits, with 20,000 repair/resupply costs, and 850 xp, for a net total of 10,000 credits profit and 850 xp; However, because the player drowned themselves 4 games ago, he only receives 15,000 credits, with 20,000 repair/resupply costs, and 425 xp, for a net total of -10,000 credits and 425 xp.

questions you may have :

Q - what if someone drowns by "accident"?

A - that person is an idiot for even getting themselves into a situation like that, and therefor must be punished accordingly so they avoid getting into the same situation.

Q - what if someone on my team pushes me and drown me?

A - pretty sure the TK system picks up on that from last time I saw

Q - why is such a system needed?

A - 1 - to prevent desertion of teammates and 2 - to stop active denial of certain achievements that an enemy player might have gained if the drowning player fought fairly

Q - What if a  TK'er pushes me and drowns me?

A - an additional system should be put in, where if a friendly tank is in contact with you, they are responsible for an enviornmental damage you receive for x seconds

tl;dr : drowning vehicles are a result of either cowardice, idiocy, or both. Either way, it must be punished

-400000 is not fair. the options you presented are way too aggresive

20 times is way too harsh i mean ive drowned by mistake crossing the part on abbey because someone tracked me and my kit was cooling down. It is unreasonable to have myself -400,000 in the hole for that. I mean believe something should happen like maybe perhaps just your repair cost is doubled. it more reasonable than by times 20

also if there are a system where you get -50% credits etc for next 10 games people would just spam tier 1 until it's over. That means people with 100k games seal clubbing in tier 1 potentially and we both know that would be bad so yeah...

Yes, punish them.

No punishment, just move on.

Punish them, but because of this, not this.

Assuming cowardice means "being an A."

I've had a few times where I've drowned because of mistakes, I'd be super salty if I was further penalized 400,000 credits.

That's insane and asinine.

The stupidity of using the word coward in a freaking kids game. Its beyond absurd.

There does need to be some punishment. I think I’ve probably drown on accident 3-5 times in 27000 games.

I see a friendly or enemy (usually arty) drown himself a couple times a night.

More than 1 drowning in 24 hrs gets you a big credit penalty or an hour ban

Yes it’s irritating to see it happen right from the get go. But you state that people are “idiots” for accidental drownings. I’d say if you’re looking for an idiot, look within yourself. 400K credits for falling victim to WGs absurdly casual physics model? Get bent.

  1. Laughable. "Play the game the way I want you to"
  2. There is no client script that can determine intent any more than YOU can
  3. It is their account - not yours - mind your own business
  4. WG is not going to accept 500-1000 tickets a day " he drowned and I want him punished"
  5. Laughable

"must be punished"

Sure, give more players a reason to quit.

You must be a middle school vice principle.

What about the cases where someone is drowned by a team killer? If I get tracked as a light tank, and some big mean heavy pushes me into the water, and I can't fix my tracks because my repair kit is on cool down, I have to get punished for being an idiot?

Too many factors to take into consideration to put in a punishment system.

If it's wrong to drown, why not just give all tanks snorkels? No more drowning. Problem solved.

I understand where you are coming from though

we both agree on the common goal which is reducing people drowning themselves in pub games

well explain to me, why else would an artillery piece, for example, drown themselves when their team is losing. What else, apart from cowardice, would drive them to do that, instead of setting up an ambush and doing one last shot of damage?
