What about the cases where someone is drowned by a team killer? If I get tracked as a light tank, and some big mean heavy pushes me into the water, and I can't fix my tracks because my repair kit is on cool down, I have to get punished for being an idiot?

Too many factors to take into consideration to put in a punishment system.

If it's wrong to drown, why not just give all tanks snorkels? No more drowning. Problem solved.

I agree with that, that would be frustrating. There needs to be a system where : if a friendly pushes or touches you, they are responsible for any environmental damage you recieve for x seconds

that ... could work too, but it needs to have a financial impact too, otherwise, they will continue to do it with other tanks too

-400000 is not fair. the options you presented are way too aggresive

20 times is way too harsh i mean ive drowned by mistake crossing the part on abbey because someone tracked me and my kit was cooling down. It is unreasonable to have myself -400,000 in the hole for that. I mean believe something should happen like maybe perhaps just your repair cost is doubled. it more reasonable than by times 20

also if there are a system where you get -50% credits etc for next 10 games people would just spam tier 1 until it's over. That means people with 100k games seal clubbing in tier 1 potentially and we both know that would be bad so yeah...

The game can tell the difference between someone drowning themselves and something like your situation, if you watch when something like that happens it gives the kill to the person that tracked the guy drowning.

Also to the OP there was a penalty system put in place but the idiots who can't drive and constantly drown themselves on accident and those that do it on purpose had a crapshow on the forums and the punishment lasted like a week or two before WG removed it.

Only if arty alpha is brought back so they can actually defend themselves...

So what you mean is "whaaa I couldn't kill the last guy so I'm angreh whaaa"?

You do understand that this is the EXACT thought process of the people who intentionally drown themselves right??? "waaaa, I can't win so I'm just going to throw a tantrum and quit, waaaa"

It very rarely ever prevents me from getting that last kill but that doesn't prevent me from understanding that the person who did it is a spoiled brat. Can't help but wonder why you'd defend spoiled brats....

well explain to me, why else would an artillery piece, for example, drown themselves when their team is losing. What else, apart from cowardice, would drive them to do that, instead of setting up an ambush and doing one last shot of damage?

Its rarely if ever to do with cowardice. Its done out of spite. The self defense capability of arty has been nerfed to the point that it is pretty much hopeless unless the enemy tanks are low HPs and or very stupid. The arty players are drowning themselves because they refuse to be easy meat to boost the enemy's score. If you have a near zero chance to win, is it worth sticking around and offering yourself up to be killed by an enemy that has already won? I don't intentionally drown because (A) I'm stubborn about fighting to the last as best I can, and (B) my crew will not gain XP if I drown. I can totally understand the frustration that leads some arty players to drown themselves though.

So, if I have 3 personal reserves running, all are 200% and I am the last on my team in a slow long reload vehicle while the other team has three Tortoises left that just killed my last team mate that was on their cap, I should what?  Wait it out?

Grow up.

Only if you're a good sport and understand that the players on the other team aren't really your "enemy", they're just other players no different than you

FYI, when gross exaggeration is the only way that you can make your point it's painfully obvious that you never had a valid point to begin with

You guys insult the honor and memory of every Japanese soldier who ever died for his emperor rather than surrender.

ok fair

I understand where you are coming from though

we both agree on the common goal which is reducing people drowning themselves in pub games

I don't think it is common enough to get my panties in a twist.

The stupidity of using the word coward in a freaking kids game. Its beyond absurd.

I've had a few times where I've drowned because of mistakes, I'd be super salty if I was further penalized 400,000 credits.

That's insane and asinine.

Pushing the battle button and then drowning yourself is worse.  But yeah, there would have to be some involvement/investigation into each matter.  As such, this will never happen.

Yes, punish them.

No punishment, just move on.

Punish them, but because of this, not this.

Assuming cowardice means "being an A."

*unrelated topic incoming* Idk if you remember this but a couple days ago on prok you were in your amx 50 120 on the south side of the hill and i was in my amx 13 105 on the north side. I noticed that you were reloading and I had about 10 seconds left on mine. apparently i miscalculated because I ended up dying .5 seconds before finishing you off because your reload finished up right before i had put my 3rd shot into you....the frustration from my idiocy in that moment made me want to snap my keyboard in half....

Someone missed out on their precious pixel medal. :medal:

I think more like very average player had a chance to do slightly better than average for once , and lost out.

What if he just did his last shot and he knew for sure he would be killed in less than 30 secs, which was longer than his reload time to put out another shot? Then he or I would drown ourselves!! Yay no extra exp or kill from me to the enemy!!

Or, your incapable of thinking it through.  Sorry I didn't include the example for the truly slow learners.  El Haluf, 3 Torts in platoon on enemy team, me in an M40/M43.  Went swimming.

In your case, grow the EFF up.
