I like both, although style of play needs to be different,

So 14 cm with good pen, or 15 cm with massive derp?

Yeah I mean I hate to say it but the entire point of the derp is to not care about armour.  Which is all you will face in a type 4 heavy.. so everyone that goes hull down or only shows you the most bouncy armour and angles in the game.  Derp um and make them reconsider their play styles:)  Your damage and shots are much more consistant with the AP guns.. but your aim time and accuracy are still trash.  Derp up and don't have to aim for weak points.

Well some aiming is required if you want higher dmg numbers.

Playing hull down in my Super Conq, the Type 4 and Type 5 are just about the only things I never want to see in front of me, and the only thing that will make me move (sans arty).  Definitely the derp.

I used all 3 guns and 2nd gun is the most effective.

Derp gun has longer reload and effective less damage.

I went up the Soviet Heavy Tree and made it to the KV-2 ... probably in my first 500 battles and ran the 104 that I had researched off of the T-150 (don't ask me why I did both of the Tier 6's in that line, as it had something to do with S-51).  Anyway, I neglected to mount the 152 until I was platooning with some new tanks friends who never let me live down the fact that I didn't have the 152 on the KV-2.

Go derp and don't shoot any regular ammo, This is a pay 2 win tank or a craptank depending on what ammo you chose to use.

Hi, All,

I have also tried all 3 guns on this Type 4 Heavy Tank.  I have to agree with Sagar_2014 when he says the 2nd gun, the 14 cm, is by far the most effective.  My experience with the 3rd and final DERP gun, the 15 cm., is that it very rarely penetrated even when carefully aimed and green showing for pen, but, more importantly, even when it did occasionally penetrate with the DERP gun, the damage was nowhere NEAR that advertised.  In fact, I did significantly more damage (often 500+ damage) and penetrated almost every time when I used the 2nd (14 cm.) gun.  Now, I must admit that I did NOT use the Premium Ammo with the 3rd gun.  However, the specs for all 3 guns clearly reflect from low 200s on 1st gun to  high 200s for 2nd (14cm) gun for Average Penetration to the obscenely low 75/75 avg penetration for the 3rd (15 cm) gun.  This doesn't even factor in the 2.45 rounds per minute Rate of Fire for the 3rd (DERP) Gun which will too often get you destroyed waiting head to head.  So, my advice:  Stick with the 2nd gun 14 cm and do some damage consistently or take a huge chance using the 15 cm gun and watch how few times you pen and how much lower the damage is even the relatively few times you do manage to pen.  Again, I admit I did not try the premium ammo, but bare in mind the penetration promised for the Premium Ammo is just 75 mm, the same promised for the standard ammo both of which are HE rounds, AND at $6,400 per shot, you better hope for major damage or you're going to find yourself in the hole plenty of $$$$ almost always.   Just intended as food for thought and posted by someone who, at least, has the tank and has tried all 3 guns.   Have a fabulous day, Everyone!

I have been using the 14cm, I think I will just grind the rest of the way with it rather than wasting the experience on the derp.  I think has probably surprised a few people when I fire and its an AP shell rather than an HE one.

I had that problem and switched between the two. I liked the 600 base damage but it bounced way too often. I gave up on it and switched to the derp gun.

If you have a really good crew you can shoot things from long range. The longer the range the less likely they pen you. Also the harder it is for them to aim at the ammo racks. I was in the middle of the field of Siegfried and I bounced about 14K. I wasn't as useful but the enemies wasted so many shots and so much time trying to kill me that the team mopped up the rest pretty easily. That is 16,000 damage not going at the team.
