It is very satisfying when you are in a top tier medium tank and  bouncing shells from heavies two tiers below you before you move in and finish them off with one or two shots, but is it fair???

I think not!!!

So OP, do you suicide whenever you're top tier since it's obviously unfair to the bottom tier players on the enemy team? No? Then put up or shut up, don't waste everyone's time with a flimsy complaint like this

Leveling the playing field, by that you mean +-0 mm, where everyone in the game is the same tier? Highly unlikely for the US or LATAM servers. We simply don't have enough people. On the EU or RU server you're much more likely to find an all single tier or +-1 mm because they have such a large playerbase.

If WG implimented that kind of thing here you'd be seeing much, much longer queue times. At that time the forums will flood with complaints over that, then we repeated the cycle. Increase the tier spread for games, get these threads, decrease tier spread, get higher queue time threads.

It's just not feasible with small populations

BTW - this is supposed to be a discussion group, NOT a "your opinion means nothing"  forum!...

I was wondering if maybe a one tier difference in MM might help level the playing field, but as you say, it depends on the number of players available at any time!....

a one tier difference would essentially be preferential match making for all tanks in the game, and would require rebalancing some tanks and nerfing others.  It's not as easy as one thinks, given how the current tanks are balanced out.

As it is, it's pretty fair with how it treats us all, and fighting tanks two tiers above or below you provides different levels of challenges.

Then I'll apologize for my rude comment, but seriously of all the ways you could have written your topic you decided to go with "IT'S NOT FAIR" why would that tell anyone that you're up for discussion? Way too many threads have begun with that kind of title and topic comment and resulted in the OP refusing to acknowledge common sense

Honeslty 'leveling the playing field' isn't what you really mean. a level playing field means that both teams have equal ability to win (at least tank lineup wise). What you want is for everyone to be equal. How can even be remotely considered dynamic or fun? Should everyone be limited to the same tier fighting just because others don't like fighting the 3 tank 2 tiers higher than them?

There are 2 main stigmas I try to keep aware of. They are the "Top Tier" and "Bottom Tier" stigmas. Oftentimes I find myself over-confident when placed in top tier and defeatist when placed in bottom tier. If I can, I try to remove these stigmas and play the best positioning/maneuvering given the tank class and team composition for that match. That said, some of my best results have been while in the bottom tier. Aside from that and with the new MM, there are far more instances of +/-1 MM and even +/-0 MM than in the past. Personally, I would not like to see 0 MM as the norm.

In that scenario, the op would fair much worse, being that there would be no point at with which he had the tier advantage.

^^ That is one heck of a run on sentence...

If your opinion matters but those of people who don't agree with it are not allowed to comment, then it's not a discussion its a monologue.

So they keep telling us...and folks like you continue to swallow it.  I think it has a lot more to do with money (battles ending quickly) than wait times.  A lot more.  How many times do we see complaints about wait times on the forum?  Not too often, do we.  Yet here you are repeating this tired mantra as if we get complaints every day.  They said this back when there were 30k on the east coast server alone...now we're down less than 20k, and late at night, 5k....and still no wait issue.  Hmmm.

Maybe you should go watch some weakspot guides and practice better strategies. Seems like the issues isn't the game, it's you.

True but it's also fun to pew pew a high tier to death while it's distracted.

I would like to see a one tier difference especially since many premium tanks enjoy this benefit. I have a feeling that the only reason that we don't get it is that the current MM encourages the use of premium ammunition and we all know who benefits from that!....

Um, no.  If it's balanced for all the tanks now, it would change nothing.  If we were going to +2/-2 from +1/-1, THEN balancing would have to be looked at.  We already have a +1/-1 5/10 format that requires no rebalancing.

The only additional challenge I see is higher tier players wouldn't have as much fodder in the form of 2 tiers down to pad their stats with.

Which game mode is one medium versus several heavies that are two tiers lower?

There are, in fact, several other situations one can find one's self where one is at a huge advantage. I think that's a feature.
