Only Wargaming could make the experience of getting a free tank feel like a an attempt to extort money out of players.

Problem 1: Crew is automatically retrained to Badger, leaving FV215b crew-less.

This means that you have to train a full crew for the FV215b, and unless you want it to totally suck you're going to have to spend a pile of gold for that! Even then they won't have any perks, so you'll need to have a premium account and use a gob of crew xp boosters to get them in shape.

Problem 2: New Badger crewman is only trained to 100%, so no BIA.

Again, they want us to buy premium and crew xp boosters.

Problem 3: Retraining reduced transferred Badger crew's skill level - in my case from 3 perks to 2 available perks.

Yet again, a ploy to get us to buy premium and crew xp boosters.

The whole process of WG goading players into racing for the FV215b before the update felt like a scheme to drain our wallets (Buy that premium time, buy those boosters!), this crew transfer garbage is where they've emptied our wallets and are shaking us by the ankles in the hopes that our last pennies will fall out. Way to go WG, you made something that should have been awesome seem shady and sordid.

The 183 turned into a "Special" vehicle meaning it should function the same as a premium tank in terms of the crew where you can move a normal tank crew into it without penalty (so long as it's of the right class), so basically you got a free crew trainer other than the radio operator..

I heard they just took your 183 crew and made them a Badger crew. Then after that the 183 is a Premium, so you just drop your badger crew in it, no penalties.

What the others said.

Didn't know it was a premium, that makes things a bit better, but there's still the matter of the lost crew skill and the under-trained radio man.

1. You can put the crew back for free, since the 183 is a premium now.

2. Wrong. They actually reset my crew skills for free so I could have picked new ones if I wanted. My crew is right back up to their 2.5 perks.

3. Training was already done to 100% for free.

There's so much wrong with this post it hurts.

Funny I didn't lose one single skill of my 4 perk crew. Sure have to train a radio operator no big deal.

I just saw the 2 available perks marker and assumed it had removed my 3rd perk progress. Just went through the process of re-picking perks and I'm back where I was.

Looks like I hit the forums a little hastily, but in my defense the details of this were a little obtuse.

People just love to complain, even when it's not warranted.  WG explained the whole process.  It was crystal clear.  If you can't read, then that's on you.

Considering Wargamming's track record, an assumption that they've screwed something up and/or come up with some new dastardly monetization scheme is an easy and typically safe assumption. Should I have read the details more carefully? Sure, but even after closer examination the details were not, as you say "crystal clear" - the way things were presented in the garage after the update was alarming. I was expecting to have both tanks fully crewed. Also, one thing the patch notes don't make clear is what a "special vehicle" is and that they function like premium vehicles.

20 HESH rounds.... now that will be fun... no more waiting for full aim, you can afford to miss from far away now.... one could kill 10 E100s now .... in theory of course.

I would have figured you sharpies would have worked out how to get crews transfer for free:

1) put your 183 crew into the barracks

2) put crewman from any other tank you don't care about into the 183 [DO NOT TRAIN THEM...duh]

3) they transfer the 183 crew to the Badger and train them

4) restore 183 crew to its tank
