Holiday Ops are upon us!  Check out the guide here.

Why does the video say 2018?
Our development team resides in Belarus, which celebrates the Julian-Calendar based Orthodox Holiday Season.  Their Advent starts in mid-December and runs into the following year, with Christmas and "Old" New Years occurring in January - more Yuletide for everyone!

Hey Cabbage,  What is Soviet New Year?  I don't get it as I've never heard of it before.

Couldn't it all have been made a bit more convoluted?

Seriously though, this will be great. Looking forward to it.

I'm curious as well, I was under the assumption that the Soviet Union had ceased to exist.

Looking forward to the boxing day!  Or un-boxing?  Or de-boxing?

I wants me some stuff!

Soviet New Year's was the Soviet replacement for Christmas, since they were an atheistic government. Apparently, it's still kind of a thing, though the Orthodox Christmas celebration is starting to come back.

It's just one of the four themes that decorations will fall into this year - so you can put an Ushanka on your Snowman and call him Tovarisch if you're into that kind of thing.  Also what he said ^

After reading the wiki, it makes more sense, but I've never seen this tradition before so we'll

have to wait to know what it should look like...

@ cabbage, thanks soooo much for responding to my pm's and letting me know what I need to do in my situation...oh wait, you haven't.  Even though you specifically asked me to pm you.

Thanks.

It's probably a nod towards the non-Orthadox (secular) folks who still celebrate the season.  St. Nicholas being a Christian monk and thus, a religious figure and the 1800's origins of Santa Claus, being decidedly American ... as I understand or recollect.

That's right, Christmas in the faith of the Russian Orthodox Christian Church is celebrated on January 7, 2018.
This is good to let you know.

Now we need to let the developers who are in Belarus know that Christmas in the rest of the world is on December 25, 2017.

They should not have put in any year so there would be no confusion.

Another way to obtain them are the Advent Calendar daily quests that open during the event.

Does this include the daily quests we've already completed so far (i.e. the ones from Dec 1 through Dec 14)?

"There are no limits here. Collect all four sets to get a set of items and bonuses for each nation!" Does this include the crates?

Its not the rest of the world. Any country that is orthodox usually uses the Julian calendar (besides Romania). Catholic orthodoxy is the second largest Christan denomination. So, no it's not just in Russia.
