Hey Tankers,

New on the Supertest: The Object 705A!  This behemoth is the Tier X capstone of the aforementioned new Soviet HT branch.

Like its predecessors it feature a rear-mounted turret and some heavy armor.  The 705A features a 152mm gun that works best up close, which is where you will want to be anyway to draw enemy fire and bully your opponents.

As always, these numbers are not finalized - let us know what you think.  Please make sure to read the WCFR Rules before posting - the better your position is explained and defended the more likely it will have an influence.

So... U kill STI and is4 and is 7 and u make new heavy line? I do not understand logic in that. Rear mounted turet did not work for brit line and it will here. I really do not understand.

Make new maps. Not new tank lines pls

Without knowing the armor profile of the front it will be hard to say how good this will be... 0.44 accuracy with 2.8 second aim time is terri-bad though.

Ultimately the question will be whether or not the 705a is a more pragmatic E100. They may look very different, but their role and tactics will be the same for all intents and purposes. Is a loss of 100 alpha and some hit points the only meaningful price the 705a will pay in exchange for better mobilty, a lower profile, a more effective turret front, more penetration, and a better config for side-scraping? And this ties into my usual comment, could this situation be rectified by giving the 705a a much more prominent frontal weakspot?

As always, tread carefully when dealing with heavy armor. Premium ammunition is still a relevant balancing factor in countering heavy tanks like this one, and that makes its inclusion inherently controversial. Likewise, the question should be raised in whether or not the tier 8s will have any fun whatsoever interacting with the 705a, because in the current MM they will be expected to do so frequently. At least with something like the Badger you could say that its helpless when tracked and flanked. But a fully-rotating turret is a very different experience.

Those side cheeks by the front will look awfully flat when you try to sidescrape in it.

Again, this seems like a terribly tone-deaf announcement given the numerous other lines that could (and should) be receiving more public attention.

I also question just how well balanced this tank will be. It looks bad now, but then again, so did the Super Range Target, before it was buffed into silliness. And the Badger was never nerfed from its current silly state. So I question how well WG will be capable of balancing this tank, given that they have not, exactly, had a good track record of balancing other tanks recently added to the game. Even tanks that have been rebalanced were rebalanced for the worse... (see also: Maus, Type 4 and 5, Centurions, Pattons, et all). It really depends on the frontal armor model of the tank and just what changes are made before the live server.

Also @CabbageMechanic, who do I talk to about reporting a severe model error on a tank? Its been broken for 2 years and no one has bothered to fix it.

Am I correct in saying that the severe model error is the FV4202?

I'm pretty sure you have to contact the devs of WoT, and unfortunately, they're all on the Russian server. So good luck with that.

well hmmm personally I haven't gotten past tier 7 yet (not a bad thing mind you) but I gotta say it's nice to get new standard tanks but I am getting tired of them being put in at tiers 8-10.

I will say however that this tank looks like it will do well sidescrape brawling but anywhere else and it's out of it's element. still it will come down to the armor layout and what weakspots (if any) it has frontally.

Is it just me or does the image for the tank have like terrible quality compared to the OG's picture.

Its an unskinned model. Most super test tanks look like that before they get their real textures.

This is the first time I've seen a supertest model picture like that.

Even the OG post supertest tank doesn't look like that.

Basically depends on where in the art team's timeline they're able to grab a snap of the model. Sometimes we do see ST tanks like this, and later see improved textures if they keep going.

My question is, why is it OK for Russian heavy tanks to not have a frontal weak spot when the lower hull is covered, but the E5 had the tumor nerf and all the German tanks can be penned through the front of the turret?
